Its all down to the tracklisting for me, and I'm going to be well fussy as this is my area of specialty.
If its full of dire Tiesto, faceless 'electro' (where rather than being electro in the Kraftwerk sense of the word, its electronic brash house) and little else then it'll be saddening.

Unless that rotates then its a complete waste of planetary resourses, if it does then I guess you hit the correct button or combination of buttons and 'scratch' the disc round slighty to simulate a real deck.

The pics look like there only show a small amout of the control there might be a few more buttons for cross fade etc. I guess ultimately they couldn't completely copy beatmainia.

I'm getting confused, I mean I play Rock Band because actually playing guitar isn't easy, nor is getting a full band together in real life. But the barrier to entry for being a real DJ is fairly low, surely they should at least make the peripherals as lifelike as possible?

I restate my earlier opinion that:

I have no problem with this game (these games?) coming out - they could be very fun . .
. . . BUT they need to make the turntables as realistic as possible. If those don't actually revolve, and if you aren't able to slow/speed/pause/scratch the music in a realistic manner, then there's just no point imo.

If they -do- behave like 'proper' decks, with a cross fader and all, then it'd just be a video game - feedback system for real DJing. Which would be rad, actually.

As someone who actually mixes I find this a travesty but I guess for people who can't afford decks it could be fun. If I saw someone using them I would feel obliged to mock them however.

Don't really get it. With all the apparent expert input they've been getting (and some genuinely big names have been mentioned but this might be a marketing ploy) you'd think there'd be more to it than this mock up. Given that the focus pf the game seems to be on hip-hop dj'ing you would think a crossfader would be a must.
