First DLC for Killzone 2 announced News

PlayStation 3 News by Ellie Gibson

14 April, 2009

Sony has announced the first downloadable content for Killzone 2 is coming later this month.

The Steel & Titanium Pack will include two brand new maps for online multiplayer fun.

First up is the Wasteland Bullet map, where the action takes place on the bullet train linking Pyrrhus and the Wasteland. You have to wrestle control of the train from the enemy as it hurtles along the track at full speed. Overhead obstacles are likely to prove a particular problem as they can cause instant death.

Then there's the Vekta Cruiser map. ISA troops aboard a huge ship have to repel a force of Helghast troops, and protect the cruiser from Helghan fire. The action all takes place indoors and is said to be "hauntingly claustrophobic", with danger lurking around every corner.

It's not known how much, or indeed whether, you'll have to pay for the maps. But Sony has confirmed the Steel & Titanium Pack will be released via PlayStation Network on 30th April.

Great news. Really looking forward to some new maps.
But if there gonna ask money for it I don't really find it justify to purchased them. Back in the days you could get this stuff for free.

Ordered it via Play.com but it still hasn't arrived. :( Guess I'll have to report it missing (it's been over 5 weeks) though that's a pain when the package does arrive in the end.

I've never had a title get lost in the mail, eventually they all arrive but sometimes it takes them 3 months... It does seem that lately US shipments on average take around 5 weeks to get to the old continent where previously they arrived between 8 and 14 days. Anyone else experiencing these slow shipment times? I personally don't mind waiting as I've got more games than I can play anyway, so it won't stop me from importing. But I can imagine that it's very annoying to the less patient gamer.

Yep, sadly i had delays on nearly all my recent orders from Play.com
For example, my copy of Killzone2 arrived after 4 weeks! (I live in Greece)

I really hope that you'll get your order soon! Don't forget that it was Easter afterall, so a lot of people are on leave, and the post offices tend to be understaffed on such times.

Thanks for the reply. :)

My copy was sent a few days before release so it's been around 7 weeks now. I hesitated about reporting it missing because when I did that with an earlier game, it arrived a few weeks later (all in all took 10 weeks!) and it was a hassle to send that back again. But the link for reporting it missing isn't available anymore in my order history so I either have to call their helpdesk or give it a few additional weeks and hope everything will be alright in the end (like I said, up till now everything did arrive eventually even if it took 12 weeks in some cases though not just with Play.com, same goes for movietyme and sometimes eBay sellers). Or do the latter first and then call the helpdesk if it doesn't work out.

The strange thing is that shipments from Asian retailers still generally arrive in little over a week (also standard mail). I would have expected the US-Europe route to be quicker.

Wow... that's a huge delay there. If you have the patience then give them some more time.

I really hope that everything works out!
