First Champions Online update detailed
New powers, zombie PvP, late October.
Cryptic has outlined the first major update to its superhero MMO Champions Online: Blood Moon, a Halloween-themed patch due in late October.
Blood Moon introduces a new suite of superpowers to try out. The Celestial powerset features the healing and buffing powers of the Seraphim and the offensive attacks of the Nephilim.
The update will also herald the rise of the undead villain Takofanes. Werewolf packs, undead heroes and zombies will appear across Champions' world, and there will be a Zombie Apocalypse player-versus-player event in the Canadian Wilderness zone. If you die fighting the zombies, you'll return as one of them.
Champions Online launched yesterday for PC in North America, and hits European shops on Friday. Watch out for more on Eurogamer MMO very soon.

And Spimmy, they've already fixed those issues with cheap retcons.

Well, they've extended retconning to the beginning of your character. However, it's still prohibitively expensive. Still, launch MMO, radical changes are to be expected. I'm having fun by not taking it too seriously, picking powers for concept rather than effectiveness, and laughing at the forum doom-mongers.

Seriously, spimmy, all MMOs have balancing issues. Both before, during and after launch. Get over it and welcome to the world of MMOs.

So I have to re-roll, leaving my newfound team to continue up the ladder.
Retcon isn't broken, it's just poorly conceived - Travel at least shouldn't be bundled in the same undo chain as everything else.

Yeah I wasn't in the beta and so have no idea what the game was like pre-nerf, but I'm pretty sure that the game is full of whinging crybabies. CO is piss easy compared to any other MMO I've played at launch (and they're *always* too easy at launch).
Someone should drop Hogger into the Desert newbie zone. That'll shake things up...
