If it looks like that and plays like Alien Breed used to back in the day, should end up being a good update

Looks ace. That's the kind of game I'm looking forward to get from DD. I don't have enough time for full blown AAA these days.
Good to see old school studios back alive and kickin.

The original Amiga version was the first game that ever truly scared me. It was like Gauntlet made by Satan. With aliens. Looking at it today still gives me the shivers, and I hear the menacing soundtrack in my head.

I think this new one is looking pretty sharp and true to the source. I hope they bring Allister Brimble back to make an updated version of the soundtrack.

Nice to see Team 17 have remembered they do games other than Worms.

Graphics look nice and spooky - Agreed Alistar Brimble should be brought back for the music - Proper old school :)

Although it would never happen, I'd love to see Alien Breed 3d with pretty graphics. It had some very clever level design, unlike its sequel which had pretty graphics and rubbish level design

Thanks for great feedback folks, we're looking forward to releasing some video because statics don't really give it any justice to how alive the environments are. It has the aura and feel of the original, but very modern in appearance.

And yes, Allister has remixed the original track which will be tucked away somewhere.

Martyn/T17. My, that was a quick 18yrs since the original... you have no idea how old it makes me feel (and actually am)

This is fantastic news! I loved Alien Breed Special Edition back in the day on my Amiga - it was a brilliant co-op shooter. It's one of my top games ever! http://megabits-of-gaming.blogspot.com/2...

Finally some good stuff is starting to hit Xbox Live Arcade - Reckon these other games would work pretty well too...

Wow, didn't expect comments from the devs themselves! Very nice to hear that Allister will be doing a track or two. I honestly think the Amiga had the best game music ever made, and Allister is one of the true legends.

Am I the only one thinking 'Shadowgrounds'?

But good going anyway, finally something else from T17 other than endless Worms!

Can't wait for the videos and the remixed music. The AB main title is one of the most memorable songs from that era. Oh, and please make sure you keep the "lock player rotation when fire button is held down" feature as well! :)

Really looking forward to this and yes, it does look a bit like Shadowgrounds. No bad thing though as they are good fun. Dirt cheap on Impulse too.

I loved Alien Breed back in the day, but after finishing Space Siege on the PC I imagine that this will similarly feel antiquated and a grind.

Your expectations for complexity in games can catch you off guard these days. What would appear to be a simple enjoyable blast em up can often feel just retro and naff.

(and just how freaking cool is Borderlands - now THAT'S a 2009 game)
