Final Forza 2 car list

310 vehicles in total.

Microsoft has revealed the final section of the monstrous list of cars that make up Forza Motorsport 2.

The final list is included below, but you can check out the entire listing - 310-strong - over on the game's official website. Each will be fully customisable, too.

Forza Motorsport 2 is due out next month, with a demo expected on Xbox Live Marketplace in the near future, as Microsoft aims to replicate the critical success of the first game.

To that end Forza 2 ups the ante both visually and in other technical areas - with support for the Xbox 360 Wireless Racing Wheel with force feedback among the options available.

For more on the game, be sure to check out our Forza Motorsport 2 gamepage, where all manner of videos and screenshots lurk, along with a preview from last year's X06.

Nice car list (the full one I mean); can't wait to try them out with the 360 FF wheel :)
  • LOLLERS #2 5 years ago

nice list, why do I need GTR2 on the 360 again?
  • dbeamish #3 5 years ago

    no Alfas :(
Not even the 8c which I was hoping for. But don't worry.. we get that crappy Mini. bah. Might as well put a Prius in it.
  • brainbird #4 5 years ago

Not bad (but not superb, either), even though some of the vehicles are listed more than once just because of another skin. Like the three Maserati MC12s.
Unless a car has different setups with different teams. That would be attention to detail.
  • miiiguel #5 5 years ago

  • belziah #6 5 years ago

looks to be a very tidy list
  • _grumpy #7 5 years ago

    @ Miiiguel

The full list does include VW's - Golf GTi's, Beetles and such like. But why you'd want to drive a Sloanemobile is beyond me ;)

I'm all in for the Rice Rockets, myself.
  • Pulsar_t #9 5 years ago

Does a damage model exist at all? One of the reasons I dumped the GT series was the lack of such a model.
  • uiruki #10 5 years ago

Pulsar: Yeah, there's a decent one in Forza 1, and they're expanding it for the second. It's entirely possible to make your car undriveable in one collision, though I don't remember wheels coming off or anything. You can even wreck your engine by revving too high :p
  • redd #11 5 years ago

    Pulsar_t,

    Short answer: yes.

The first forza already had damage modelling, tho not very extensive but satisfying enough imo.
  • Der_tolle_Emil #12 5 years ago

Hitting a wall with decent speed and possibly a weird angle rendered the vehicle nearly unusable in the first one.

And yeah, I already saw screenshots of Golfs - why aren't they listed here?
  • neil_likes_bums #13 5 years ago

because EG has listed the new cars for the list.. check the actual Forza 2 website for the /full/ list :)
  • Der_tolle_Emil #14 5 years ago

Thought something like that. My bad!
  • The_Programmer #15 5 years ago

Why no 2CV. You could have a challenge with these cars to see who can get them to lean the most around a bend without rolling it.
  • king_skins #16 5 years ago

has eurogamer got its perview copy of this game yet? they where supposed to be sending them out this week. Also when can we expect a preview? :)
  • Overlush #17 5 years ago

So it's OK to get excited over new cars in Forza but not new guns in Halo?
  • MaxiSleep #18 5 years ago

"So it's OK to get excited over new cars in Forza but not new guns in Halo?"

Forza is a friend which calls over once or twice a month. Halo 3 on the otherhand shows up just a little too often......
  • phl0w #19 5 years ago

I don't care if it got 301 or 301,000,000 cars and 123456789 tracks.
The only question is: does it run @60fps or is it another Forza1 fiasco? Made the game unplayable for me.
  • malteaserhead #20 5 years ago

the developers have said time and time again that this will run in 60fps

  • cyber_nicco #21 5 years ago

"I do miss the 1950's Porsche Spyder.. Never won a race in it but man was it ever fun to drive! (in a kinda "Lets dice with death on every corner" way)"

Damn - I didn't realize this was dropped! I liked driving that car, too!
  • the_sas_man #22 5 years ago

Lotus Exige is enough for me. My one affordable dream car.

    This game is gonna rock.
  • Kostabi #23 5 years ago

    Bastids!

How can they include the 1993 Peugeot proto without having the Silk Cut Jaguar on the same list?! It's only doing half the job, I can't recreate my favourite Le Mans moments now. :(

    Yay for Prodrive 550s

    Yay for Super GT cars

Yay for GT3 Cup racers (my favourite rFactor mod to boot).

    Must have this game. Now.

As an absolute car and motor racing nut, I actually think this list is complete dogshit.
How many different versions of the Audi R8 and Porsche GT3 are in there, and no Prodrive Aston DBR9??? Fucking scandalous considering the DBR9's ALMS rival, the Corvette C6-R is in there. Like someone said previously, the list is only half done, with no prospect of re-creating classic rivalries.

The variety of cars in the list as a whole is shit as well, with so many missing that probably should have been there from the start. *cough*2007Type-RandClio197*cough*

Maybe my problem with it is that I'm getting sick of having the same choice of cars in every racing game. The majority of the cars in Forza 2 I've already seen enough of in GT4, PGR3 and TD:U. The developers had a great chance to include more of the newer cars that were not seen in the aforementioned, to bring their game more upto date, but do they capitalise? Do they fuck.
I understand that licences may play a part, but that doesn't halt the bitter disappointment of seeing the same cars I'm already sick of. Anyway, I'm sure with MS's vast reserves of cash, and determination for this game to be a success, it wouldn't have been that hard, with a couple of more months delay to have gotten hold of more licences.
  • secombe #26 5 years ago

A weird list for sure, racing variations for some models, and just the standard road car for others (Aston Martin being the obvious Race Car omission).

I'm pleased to see the Clio V6 has made it, but it would be nice if some of the early affordable cars are ones that are remotely attainable to the average person, as it's always nice to see your own car in a game, there are some Japanese efforts but not much from Europe. I'm thinking:

    Renaultsport Megane 230
    Renaultsport Clio 197
    Seat Ibiza Cupra
    Volkwagen Lupo GTi
    Alfa 147 GTA
    BMW 130i M Sport

and what about those brilliant, slightly different cars?

    Ariel Atom
    Morgan Aero 8
    Marcos TSO
    Caterham 7
    Ultima GTR

Some of those just above and more are what could really set the car list apart from every other racer. Seems a slightly half-hearted effort.

It's ALL been downhill since PGR2. Trust me - why do you think they STILL haven't patched one of the XBox's BIGGEST online games? Oh, that and Rallisport2... Anyhoo - Borza can wait IMHO. Roll on Gotham 4:)
  • Lovemoose #28 5 years ago

Bugatti Veyron please. I want to pretend I'm driving into the future.
  • SomaticSense #29 5 years ago

Just to kind of prove my point about it (and risk coming across as a bit of a prick), I've looked at the finished list and made a note of the new recently released road legal cars not seen in other games. They are (might take a while to read through):

    Porsche 911 Turbo
    Porsche 911 GT3
    Porsche Cayman S
Peugeot 207 RC (GTI to the Brits)
    Vauxhall Astra VXR
Saturn ION Red Line (never heard of this, so have no clue whether it's actually road legal, but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and include it, seeing as the list is so small anyway)

edit: There are a ridiculous amount of missed opportunities, like including the older versions of cars instead of the newer ones. Fair enough the VW Golf R32, as the new shape GTi is in, and means more variety in the 'old' shape Golf (R32), and the 'new' shape (GTi). But then there's no new Seat Lean Cupra (at the expense of the old one), no new Civic Type R, and especially the lack of the new Jag XKR (Top Gear's car of the year). There's not even the Ferrari 599, which is a huge oversight considering the amount of other Ferraris that have made the cut.

    Agreed, Somatic.

While I'm happy with the majority of the car list it's sad that there have been so many glaring oversights. It does seem like every car game follows the same list rather than having a long hard look at what they could get.

The game would be an instant ten if it had a variety of Morgan cars.

  • Kipster #31 5 years ago

*sigh*, are Microsoft trying to be better than sony in this situation?

Cus i'll tell ya now, Gran Turismo will always be better than this Forza crap... the first Gran Turismo on the PS1 had about the same amount of cars this one has...

and this is 2 generations above that. *sigh*
  • Yossarian #32 5 years ago

so next-gen = more cars to you?

I'll take advanced physics, graphics, audio etc. over even more cars thanks
  • chronom4n #33 5 years ago

it seems to me that Forza 2 is all about Pro race cars. In GT4 for example, the emphasis has been on the history of cars. For some owners, the pleasure is in seeing their own cars on the screen. All F2 seems to be doing is recreating super fast cars.
  • Kipster #34 5 years ago

I agree with you there Chrono
  • chronom4n #35 5 years ago

@kipster, thanks for that squire! I have been wanting to put a reply that is constructive and that was what i could think of. One other thing... I watched the Mugello replay on the Turn10 website and then I watched the GT5 HD replay. I have to say that just on the visuals, GT5 eats Forza alive. Yes, Forza emphasises the AI and physics just a whole lot better but GT5 makes me want to go and buy the cars. God only knows what the end product of GT5 will be like. But I need to see the game running properly first before I hand over my notes. One other thing that got me thinking, why no gear stick on the FF wheel?
  • SomaticSense #36 5 years ago

"it seems to me that Forza 2 is all about Pro race cars."

And it's fucking that one up as well, what with the piss poor pro race car list given in this article.

I'm definitely getting this game, as I believe that gameplay-wise it'll be one of the best and most authentic racers out there on the next-gen (until GTR comes out that is) and the customisation levels will hopefully be massively improved on the decent options that was in the first.
But I was kind of hoping that it would be all that, plus have a top quality car list, with not necessarily a crapload of cars, but at least an ok amount of new ones not aready seen in previous games. It's been a brilliant year for car releases and updates, so I can't help feeling it's a bit of a missed opportunity.

But it seems that the physics, customisation, and racing is the only thing to look forward to, which is brilliant and should make for great gameplay, but it could have been so much better - a gaming classic if you like - with a more varied car list on top of those.

  • SomaticSense #38 5 years ago

If you mean about the game being all about the Pro race cars, then I disagree. How can the game be all about these cars, when that list is so bad?
  • chronom4n #39 5 years ago

@SomaticSense, sorry i have been paying too much attention to the list of cars and not enough on the customisation aspect. I agree that this game will blow the pants off any other current racer but, in terms of the car lists i suppose they could better it. I also follow the ALMS, FIA GT etc, and for them not to include the mighty GT1 aston martin DB9 is a crime. maybe they will include it later on in the form of DLC but to not inlude it from the get go... now that is a shame. Plus where is the Supra Team Tom Castrol liveried moto from 1999? BTW somatic, are you off to the race meeting at silverstone on the 4th-6th of may? let me know. as i am definitely going,

Nice car list! How about the BMW Motorsport M3-GTR R3? Is that the best car in the world or what? I have to say that no matter how many car donations I have went to, I've never witnessed a M3-GTR R3 given away like a sick puppy. I can't wait to try it, that thing made me have a gold in life.
