Final Fantasy VII is eight quid on PSN
FNR4 demo! Trash Panic! More!
Sony is selling the PS3/PSP port of Final Fantasy VII for GBP 7.99 / EUR 9.99 on the PlayStation Store.
The iconic PSone JRPG was confirmed for the West during E3 and is available to download now.
Also of note on the PS Store this week is a demo for Fight Night Round 4 and PSN puzzler Trash Panic, where rubbish falls from the top of the screen and must be rearranged and disposed of before the container fills. Check out our review.
PS3 and PSP videos from E3 are knocking about, and there's the usual swathe of Rock Band and now Rock Band PSP songs to bolster collections with.
Tokobot, for those wondering, struggles to justify the hefty 12 quid asking price. Our Tokobot review tells all.

The PS3 version also seems to look every bit as good graphically as the 360 version, which I've seen in video form, a further sign that EA are finally mastering the hardware so that both versions are practically indistinguishable.

And yet, by coincidence, the PS3 version of FNR3 is just about the only EA cross-platform port where the PS3 version looks noticeably better.

I've been wanting to replay FFVII (legally) on PSP for ages.

I've no doubt that had the Xbox 360 version been released at the same time as the later PS3 version, that it would have looked pretty much the same on and included the same improvements. Well, the proof is there with Round 4 because they look identical to me (although I'm sure there will be some subtle differences here and there because of the different hardware both use).

Also, I'd expected FF7 to be £15 for some reason. I wasn't going to get it, but £8 is lower than the usual threshold that it takes to get me to buy something. I'm going to have to consider this carefully. Anyone know if the PAL one runs at full speed? That might be a good enough excuse.

Kind of like the great Majora's Mask on VC. Only I already own that game twice already.

I play it every second year and I have no problem with it.

Also, I tried the Rock Band demo on PSP and it's utter gash.

Also, having played Crisis Core last year I'm looking at it with a fresh set of eyes, now knowing the backstory in intimate detail.
I'm off now to find a way to turn myself into a tart and rescue Tifa from the Don...

I didn't get into Crisis Core. Maybe I should give it another go.

Ahhhhh sorry, forgot this is something SONY are doing, my bad.

TBH I did think 7.99 was too much but I suppose it was 3 discs, so in this case you can justify the higher price.

Minor issue is the tendecy for the 2D GFX to corrupt when swapping back from a battle. I'm wondering if this was because I had the disc speed set to high, so have set it back to normal to see if the situation improves.
Also, battle screen is slightly offset when in full screen zoom mode but only by a couple of lines.
Generally great so far though.
