I see heart shaped glasses...instant buy!
  • Vlad27145 #3 2 years ago

Screw me, the engine doesn't seem to have been improved in any visible way, who woudda thought! Oh, well, who cares, Fallout done by Obsidian is epic win even if it were with Pong graphics :)
Love the T-Rex and the heart shaped glasses ROFL

Vlad: What else were you honestly expecting? From the get go we all knew this was going to be the same engine but with brand new content by Obsidian. I'm really looking forward to it, there are some hints here that it's going to be less dull than certain parts of FO3 (Namely characters and dialog) which definitely is a good thing.

So is it easy to shag 'Easy Pete'?

Loved Fallout 3 and will buy this, but I am a bit disappointed the graphics are no better, and in some cases look worse than F3. But as they said this is not Fallout 4.

Vlad: I suspect the engine will be greatly improved beneath the surface, graphically there was nothing wrong with Failout 3 that a little colour wouldn't have fixed (and some anti-aliasing on the PS3 version as it was a jagged mess)

The screens look good, target renders maybe?

    Looks like Oblivion
  • Yossarian #9 2 years ago

Sad they aren't imposing more on Fallout 3's shoddy art design.
  • SpaceViking #10 2 years ago

I was expecting something more different from Fallout 3 than that actually.
I'm not saying I'm disappointed, just surprised.

Oh, and I see two people sitting against each other touching each others palms Dr. Mitchell.

Looks good. I think when you see the more urban built up areas this is likely to come into its own. Neon etc and a properly built up and reasonably in tact city should show off the graphics a bit better than yet more desert shots (it's ironic that FO3 set in the usually green/temperate environs of DC is likely to end up seeming more "deserty" than its stablemate set in a city in the middle of an actual desert!)

I want to know if that story that popped up a while back was true, about choosing your character TYPE with its own DA style prologue (including a Chinese spy who gets turned into a ghoul)... That gave the correct setting and various other titbits about the game that seem to be real, but I have yet to see a shot of anyone other than a guy who looks similar to the default FO3 vault dweller in the screenies.

I was hoping that they'd introduce a little more colour into New Vegas than this. I mean, can't the sand be more yellow instead of the brown/greyish sludge it was in Fallout 3? And green cacti perhaps?
  • sarcasmoidosis #14 2 years ago

    These are not exactly new.

OXM had some other screenshots that showed more color than FO3 in this one. And Obsidian developing it is pure win :)

"Howdy. What can Easy Pete do for you?"

    "Stop saying 'howdy'."
  • Eraysor #16 2 years ago

My only gripe is that they've made the HUD for an already brown game brown as well (hopefully you can still edit the colour as with the original). On the plus side, the sky is a nicer colour, and it's a Fallout game so I'll probably buy it anyway.
  • Chazmeister #17 2 years ago

So the deserts of Las Vegas looks just like the Capital Wasteland, who would have thought eh?

No that I care as I must have spent about 250 hours plus in FO3 and all the DLC, so more of the same is just fine by me.
  • Bloodhunter #18 2 years ago

that engine really doesnt look good a year and a half later, maybe its just the fact its still in production.

Also, seems like its just an expansion really, looks exactly like F3 with a few addon's :/
  • FladgeMangle #19 2 years ago

It also looks like it's being played out on the set of Tremors.

I want too see more built up areas in the game so it actually looks that people are living there and that way care more about saving them. Also bounties and robots to protect those areas.
  • ZuluHero #21 2 years ago

Yay more Fallout 3. Even though its being done by Obsidian (which i had my doubts about) and some of the guys that did the originals, its nice to see that they are keeping it faithful to F03.

EDIT: Aww bless... Did I upset an old fallout fan who was hoping that a return to the guys that worked on the originals would herald a return to the way FO was in the old games?

It very much is Fallout 3 in Vegas isn't it?
  • peppergomez #23 2 years ago

pretty ugly graphics, to be honest, but more fallout is a good thing
  • tvcasualty #24 2 years ago

Any bets the dogs will still use the same attack animation wolves did in Oblivion, and characters will cross their arms and wave one hand about during dialog (even when they're verbally attacking you for the loss of a loved one)?
