Vince Grella! The Italian player is about to dive.

I cannot wait for this game, I hope the move to a new, next gen platform doesn't impede the 360 version in any significant way because that's what I'll be getting, the improvements sound great. The point about the older version seeming dated shortly after playing the latest is so true.

I love this site, but objectivity is not its strength.

For instance a little mole tells me that Eurogamer didn't even both turning up to this week's FIFA 360 press day. So what chance of ever getting objective opinions of both games here? Fan boys r us.

They probably had their invite revoked after the Madden "review" fiasco.

I've not paid any attention to whatever the Madden controversy may be. But just looked at the Madden review and this last paragraph could so easily sum up PES, but somehow it will be spun totally differently when they review it.

"As always, all you're paying for here are some minor updates, a couple of simplistic new modes, and that new season / franchise data. Unless you're an absolute addict, there's no need for this game. If you are an absolute addict, there are better games out there. If you insist on buying this, just remember; if you want to play any multiplayer, in a year's time you'll probably have to buy another one. 7/10"

Except perhaps for the "there are better games out there" section.

Oi! He's Aussie....therefore doen't dive, he just gets called up for more fouls than Italians...!

I've been playing pro evo since the first one on ps2 and have loved them all, until the new one comes out. This year I bought FIFA 07 after playing the demo...and am absolutely loving it! For once PES has real competition...and its a damn good thing.

I want a football game where you can dive, pull jerseys and elbow people in the face at corners.
Now that'd be realism!

Without reading all the other comments I just want to say that I thought PES5 was a pile of piss. From back when it was ISS up until 4 it got better and better, and then 5 came out. It just wasnt much fun to play(20+ fouls in a match any1?). Bring back the FUN Konami, please, I dont wanna have to write you another letter!

What I'd like to see some day is each team playing slightly differently, as opposed to what feels like there being just one team with differing stats. At the moment the "one team" is a wing whore.

Whatever - PES6 will still be much better than FIFA 07, which I think is absolute 'bish. How can anyone play this in preference to PES? It cuts between rendered cut scenes, changes tone of colour that does your eyes in, the players are dense, the animation jerky and the pre-meditated animations that occur are something from football games about 3 years ago. All it's got are licenses. Well I can bypass those for a 'beautiful' game. And with a bit of editing or downloading from those marvellous people out there! How FIFA is getting rave reviews everywhere this year, I've no idea.

It's getting rave reviews because the X360 version is not the same as the PC or current gen consoles version. It's not the X360 version that's getting rave reviews. Try the PC demo for comparence, and you'll see why.

Its all about lag, lag and lag for me. Or lack of. But you get my point.

Love PES in all its incarnations - if they sort out online then I will be happy.

But FIFA 07 has received rave reviews on current gen. I've been suckered into buying it this year (for the first time in about 4 years anyway) and I soooooooo regret it.

PES5 was a tremendous let down for 'petty' reasons. We still prefer PES4 for our multiplayer entertainment because the constant fouls cause everyone to shout abuse and chuck controllers around! But I have stuck with it for single player and really enjoy it.

I'm just hoping that 'radar' linesman and stupid foul counts are addressed in PES6.
And that someone can produce a stunning downloadable option file. There's fantastic talent in the editing field and I fully appreciate the effort that well known names have put in - increasing my enjoyment of PES5 beyond the un-licensed barrier! THANK YOU TO ALL WHO'VE SLAVED OVER OPTION FILES. I luv ya all!

PES is so good and so different every game. Captures the beautiful game so well..........but with so much room for improvement!
I hope PES 'next gen' is an awesome step forward in AI and looks!
I'd guess one thing - that it'll keep well ahead of the FIFA gameplay, in my opinion.

Hey...just wanted my two cents on the whole pes 5 fouls issue...i'll be honest, i didnt play much pro evo before the 4th incarnation, to be honest i played ISS 64 and 98 on the nintendo 64 but i wasnt a fan of the early pro evos at all...i got totally addicted to the 4th game and when pro evo 5 came a knockin' i had the same concerns about fouls as everyone else but i played it and played it and found that *shock* the increased chance of getting pulled up on a bad tackle was a major improvement rather than a drawback...ive found that in fifa and previous pro evos, novices at the game just hammer the tackle button or keep it pressed down and hope for the best whereas ni PES 5 it was all about timing and knowing when to wait and when to stick your foot in...the place this is most evident is on xbox live where you can really tell the difference between the dedicated players and the newbies just by looking at the foul rate...so bicky316 if youre getting 20+ fouls a game you must be doing something wrong, after a while i learned how to use the referee to my advantage because i knew what was going to be pulled up and what wasnt...thats all :D

My xmas has officially come early to the date of 27/10/06. I've never been so excited about a game since i waited for GTA 3 and all the other PES series. Still no word of a demo being released on Xboxlive? I hope so bad this game doesn't stab my hopes in the chest :( But then again, i've been playing pro since the ISS version on SNES, and i still love that one to this day!
