Was Sudeki done by Climax?

Good to see an RPG for the PSP. Like to see if developers will crack what is usually a disc intensive genre for the PS2 on the PSP.

Wrong Climax, I think. Is this Landstalker Climax?

Woohoo! This sounds good! Can't wait for a good RPG to get stuck into on the bus everyday :)

Samuri rule also, this looks like a good thing!

This is looking well tasty. Nice to have some RPGs out for the thing at long last, starting with BoF3 and Tales of Eternia on friday.

Now if only they'd release Tenchu over here already, things would be sweet :(

From the review "RPG fans haven't had much luck as far as the PSP goes"

Shouldn't this read "Game fans haven't had much luck as far as the PSP goes"?

I have the thing for a fucking year now and the most exciting thing to play on it are still emulators from 10-15 year old machines and Lumines/Wipeout.

Seriously, apart from the Virtual boy this is the weakest GAMING handheld yet

But nah. It's all a gimmick, anyway.

I have the thing for fucking six months and have about a dozen of games and apart from one disappointment, I like them. Emulators, played a few ROMs of my favourite Megadrive (the only console I ever owned before the PSP) games, but still got bored quickly. Of the emus, that is.

The PSP already has a few obligatory titles, and there are some promising ones coming soon, so IMO, I would really not call it a failure.

I don't get it, If you're regretting buying the thing because you're unhappy with the games out/coming out for it, isn't that your fault for not taking a proper look at what it had to offer you before you bought it?

Local store started selling Tales of Eternia a week early, so i won't have much time for another RPG especially with BoF III coming soon and the dude at the store promising to import Maverick Hunter X. But if it's as good as people say then the more the merrier, who am I to complain.

Why do we always assume preview code that has problems (poor translation, bad loading times, whatever) will be fixed for the retail release? In my experience it never happens.

Elfish.

I entirely agree, I chuckle now everytime I read a preview which says something along the lines of 'this problem should be fixed by release'. I can't remember any games in recent memory where problems listed in previews have actually been remedied by release (barring previews that are years in advance of release that is).

Most previews are done once the code is already going through final testing, or more often when its already been released in another country, so any fixes/optimisations are not just unlikely but almost impossible.

I've always narrowly shied away from this one. Looks a bit too problematic for me to give up playing the same sort of thing on PS2, even if it IS a PSP exclusive.

I had the decision between choosing this or PoPoLoCrois while in America. I went for the latter though as I thought it would be more entertaining. Unfortunately, it's really not... :P

I just completed this game last week actually. I've got a imported copy from USA. It's really fun and I personally thought it was a bit easy to play through bar a boss I got stuck on for a bit. It doesn't last that long neither I manage to finish the game in around 15 hours.

The game is a decent RPG, probably the best so far that has hit the PSP. The whole scroll combo thing is a nice idea, it's a shame that they have to be linked to one button rather than a few, you can change the scrolls on the fly but it would of been better to link them to buttons instead, so you could combine the two combos together and so on.

guys i have this on US import (called Kingdom of Paradise). it totally rocks.
it is slow to get into. in fact i stopped playing after 20mins.
2 days later my mate emailed me and told me it was cool and to force myself to play it... it took about an hour (to figure out the BUGEI scrolls, technique, and chi art settings) then i was absolutely hooked. the storyline is good. it features so sexy women and way over the top matrial art moves. the dialogue is sometimes delivered a little cheesy but overall very solid, but at least it is delivered. Yes, loads of spoken cut scenes - which is refreshing from loads of reading.
when you get high level the techniques get amazingly powerful. without spoiling it... the storylines will take you all over the planet and back several times, you will battle gods and uncover a secret past lost hundreds of years ago. there is one moment when you go back to an island which is pretty powerful emotionally. this is one of those rare RPG's like FF7 where you dont want to rush through... you reach a point about 6 hours in where you are focused on uncovering every secret in the game and talkign to every person and maxing out your technique scrolls. i have a 9 slot freestyle which is killa! get this game it is the best rpg on psp so far.
buy. enjoy. play again.
oh and make sure you level up a few times before entyering the town where your clan died... the little kid will kick ur ass otherwise!
