Looks like a very interresting game (/says an hardcore 360 user, but who's not a mindless fanboy/).

@ Les

"The only reason right now they are entering hardware (360 and the ridiculously named and very uncool, at least in my opinion, Zune)..."

"Yeah they do but that still doesn't make them a hardware company. Those peripherals account to a small fraction of their total revenue. And I wouldn't be surprised if they only did some R&D and marketing for it and have outsourced production completely."

As I said before, they've had hardware for years -- did I make any mention of them outsourcing, or that their hardware division makes up a minute fraction of their entire company, or claim that they are a hardware company? Obviously, they are primarily a software company, but MS hasn't just started up in hardware.

In reference to your statement about them outsourcing and only doing research and development: How would you know if that's all they did? Oh, forget about it, because again, that was not my point.

C'mon, give me a break. Argue over something else like: Wii-mote or SideWinder Freestyle Pro?

Saying that MS is only selling an amazing machine called 360 to "enforce the use of their OS and codecs" sound like a desperate argument to bash the by now known as a wonderfull machine that 360 is.

Do you know anyone who isn't a Linux geek (as myself, but I'm a weird guy) that doesn't use Windows or any other thing from MS ? I bet that should be arround 90% of home users that uses MS. Did they invest billions of dollars only to captivate the few remaining ones ?
In companies it should be arround 100%, if not in the datacenter, at least in front-office applications.
