Is it Halo stealth, ie, muck it up and shoot them instead?

Or is it the Splinter Cell variety, ie, muck it up and reload that section?

Man this game is getting a lot of coverage on EG. Is there some major schmoozage going on or does it deserve the hype?

It's getting massive hype everywhere not just on EG.
Hopefully that means the hype is good-hype, the game certainly looks competent it's just whether the gameplay will be anything special.
I'm hopeful but prepared for the worst.

"On this score it's great to see a game where the enemies make it their business to really ask questions of the player, and you'll spend an age sometimes just leaning out from behind boxes and playing little cat and mouse games with them."

I'd like to see this more in Splinter Cell!!

VU is just being very proactive at putting us in front of it. Not all publishers work so hard at that side of things.

Sounds great! My Xbox and DS have been stealing all my time from the PC...
It's time to take the power back! Bring it on!

krudster,
Are they afraid this'll be like Ico, critical acclaim but overlooked by the public? or do they just really believe in this game? They're certainly putting the work into getting it seen.

I'm just hoping Vivendi don't send Eurogamer on a all expenses paid trip to America to see some past it celebs like EA did...

I would like to address the person who chose the name.

How about a subtitle, like "FEAR : Generic Acronym", or "FEAR : Shelf Camouflage" ? Although there is still time to reconsider and opt for something with more evocative power, like "GAME", or "Boxed Disc". It's up to you.

Yours truly,

Person

Hell, I have faith in these guys. I mean, they brought us the really, really good No One Lives Forever games, which were shooters with a humorous side and lots of good moments. How can they possibly fail at making a 'normal' shooter?

But I do wish that they do a third NOLF after this one...

NOLF2 was one of my all time favourites, a solid, genuinely amusing, innovative FPS, anyone who claims to be a FPS affectionado and hasn't played it should be ashamed of themselves.

Play it if only for the house/tornado level...

I agree - though I liked NoLF 1 even more. One of the best FPS games I've ever played.

Yeah, they did, but it was their only bad game between Nolf, Nolf 2, AvP 2 and Tron.
