the communication system is about as sophisticated as that of a U-boat.

IIRC, U-boats had enigma machines on them, didn't they? Enigma = sophisticated.

Also, I'll have what ever Egon's on. I wish me uni essays were this chocka with gnarly prose.

The enigma machine was an encryption/decryption tool, not a device for actually communicating. Not that I know what comms setup u-boats had, anyway.

As for Archlord - well, I'll be giving this a miss.

I signed up for the beta but after this might not even bother with it. I've belatedly discovered Civ IV and can't get enough of it.

I'm all for paying more for a game to get exclusives, even the odd in game item for a starter character, but this 3 tier pricing system sounds nasty, really discriminating against those players who cannot afford the top two packages. Methinks it will crash and burn against WoW.

I loaded this up, and watched as my avatar slid (no walking/running animations) about the landscape, then I logged off, and uninstalled it.

One day an mmo (that isn't warcraft) will be worth playing.

unbelievable that they have three subscription rates. socialism ftw! (just for the game though, not real life politics)

Get one single subscription rate, this game has one really good idea going for it but having three rates will ruin it for me.

A few really good ideas wrapped in the greasy rule of the mediocre, it seems to me. Shame, but WoW will stop, look at this and then scurry into the distance.
