FFCC: Echoes of Time for March in US News

News by Robert Purchese

26 January, 2009

Square Enix will release Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time for Wii and DS on 24th March in the US.

"We'll announce the European release timing at a future date," the publisher told Eurogamer this afternoon, leaving "spring 2009" as the current estimate.

The most interesting part of Echoes of Time, besides the silly monsters and heard-it-all-before plot, will be the Wii-to-DS multiplayer. This should let friends adventure together using Wi-Fi and be quite seamless in motion, we're told.

Elsewhere, there's Mii Avatar support, or a choice of races to play as and plenty of customisation options to pick from.

The addition of multiplayer has also brought about a New Game+ feature that lets players replay the story, fighting tougher monsters and earning better items along the way.

You can catch the latest Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time trailer on Eurogamer TV.

Awesome. I always wanted to play the @Cube one more, but it was a huge hastle getting the person I did know round, as well as his GBA-GC cable etc - wasn't worth the effort. This version should be easier - no proprietary cables at least.

Can this be played multiplayer without the DS (or DSs) or are they required like in the original GameCube game?

This is the one with the Wii version that graphically is a direct port of the DS game, right?

Graphics aren't everything, but some things are just insulting.
