Feder: No multiformat GTA next year
Just BioShock 2, Payne and friends. Coo.
Take Two CEO Ben Feder has laid to rest any lingering suggestion that a new 'proper' Grand Theft Auto game will sneak out in 2010.
"Our goals for fiscal 2010 include operating the company on a profitable basis without the release of a new Grand Theft Auto multiplatform release," he noted as he confirmed the delay of BioShock 2 to investors and hyped up next year's line-up of Mafia II, Red Dead Redemption and Max Payne 3.
Still, The Ballad of Gay Tony, the second downloadable episode for Grand Theft Auto IV on Xbox 360, is due out this autumn.
Meanwhile, earlier this month one analyst predicted in a GamesIndustry.biz interview that more downloadable episodes would follow, with GTAV joining the action in fiscal 2011.
"I would expect that there would be two more pieces of downloadable content for GTA IV, that's what has been indicated to me, although formats are unsure. It's been indicated to me to me that would be the case," said Todd Mitchell, of Kaufman Bros. Equity Research.

I liked 4 but it needs more depth, it never hooked me like Fallout or other stuff did.

Still, on a plus note I'm very much looking forward to Red Dead. Open world cowboy shenanigans? Yes please!

OK, but that doesn't mean there won't be a single-format console exclusive next year...

They previously juggled between GTA and Manhunt, pretty sure now they'll be juggling between GTA and Agent.

You're absolutely right. A year on, that game blows my mind in so many ways. The hype has settled, the gaggle of rubberneckers have moved on, and still GTA4 remains amazing. One of the top 3 best games ever, and this generation's best title by a country mile.
