Fallout 3 versions to launch together News

PC Xbox 360 PlayStation 3
News by Tom Bramwell

18 February, 2008

Bethesda Softworks hopes to release Fallout 3 on PC, 360 and PS3 simultaneously, according to executive producer Todd Howard.

"They should all be the same date," Howard told videogaming247. "That's our plan."

That's good news then, particularly for PS3 owners who have come to expect delays, and given The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion's period of PC/360 exclusivity.

Fallout 3 is a massive multiformat RPG in which the player, a young survivor in a post-apocalyptic USA, leaves the shelter of a small community in Washington D.C. to try and track down his father.

It has big, half-melted boots to fill with its doubtless-webbed feet, given the series' considerable reputation.

Recently the developer has commented on the size of the game world in relation to Oblivion, and it also tells vg247 that the quoted figure of 12 possible endings is "artificially inflated" given that "some of those tweaks to the ending are pretty small".

So when is it out then... Fall(out) 2008? Hehehe!

Can't wait for this game personally, could easily be the Game of the Year for me if it's anything like Oblivion quality... :D

Maybe you'll think of me, when i am sad and blue....playing it on the PC (which Cliffy dear boy is far from dead). The joys of minigunning mutants is a pleasure beyond measure.

So the endings will be compiled from things you've done through the game i.e show scene x if player did y or swap scene a with scene b if player did z.

mmm kay. Still as a fallout fan I'll give it a go.

Well, that was how they did the endings for Fallout 1 and 2, so it carries on the tradition. I've been playing Fallout 1 and 2 this last week in anticipation. i'd forgotten how amazing they are.
