Fallout 3 special edition only for US

No Euro announcement "yet".

Bethesda has said the Survival Edition of Fallout 3 recently unveiled on Amazon will only be offered to US shoppers.

However, speaking to Eurogamer, a representative for the developer did say there was no European announcement to make "yet" - suggesting perhaps there are plans in the pipeline.

Amazon showed off the Survival Edition last week. Inside is a replica Pip-Boy 3000 wrist-mounted clock, a metal Vault-Tec lunch box, a Vault Boy Bobblehead toy, hardback art book and a Making of Fallout 3 DVD.

The PS3 and 360 versions will cost USD 79.99, while the PC offering is priced at USD 69.99.

Amazon also suggests the post-apocalyptic role-playing game will be out on 7th October. According to Bethesda the official date has yet to be locked down, but it should be around that time.

Fallout 3 is shaping up to be one of the most impressive releases of the year. Pop over to our Fallout 3 gamepage to find out why.

    Something along the lines of the Oblivion Special Edition interests me but no this Fallout 3 one as it seems to include stuff I'm not interested in so this news really doesn't bother me. I do like those metal cases though so maybe we'll get something like that instead?
  • hiddenranbir #4 4 years ago

    More monies. Supposedly these editions will be worth something down the years.

    the yanks are richer than us euro bums anyway ;)

    /cancels limited edition order and pre-orders standard edition

    Im not paying a tenner more for a crappy steel case...
  • ScarOnTheSky #7 4 years ago

    The Survival Edition you are talking about is actually 120 Dollars, though. The Collectors Edition is only 70 Dollars, but does not include the clock.
  • Saladin #8 4 years ago

    @ps3owner:

    That's only because we all had to play double the US rate for Rock Band. ;)
  • Darkedge #9 4 years ago

    I want the pip-boy clock.. I'm a sucker - RELEASE IT IN EUROPE YOU GITS!

    Correct, the story needs updating because at the moment it's wrong!

    Who wouldn't want a Vault Boy Bobblehead toy? I never buy special editions but this one is interesting me
  • ps3owner #12 4 years ago

    @Saladin

    I think you meant to say "Pay", I still agree though... for that price we also have to play twice as long ;)
  • Eraysor #13 4 years ago

    Having a Vault-Tec lunch box would be awesome. I'd take it to Uni every day ^_^
  • Xerx3s #14 4 years ago

    Fortunately the LE IS available here and only lacks the clock that nobody wants.
  • Miths #15 4 years ago

    "The Survival Edition you are talking about is actually 120 Dollars"

    So with the current (non)value of the Dollar, that means pretty much the same as we will be paying for the regular version here in Europe? :p
    Actually, almost exactly the same as the typical price for a new PS3 and 360 games here in Denmark - around USD 112,-.
  • miiiguel #16 4 years ago

    Generalizations are wrong, although I undestand them. The "nobody wants" or "nobody cares" fails flat when UNO sold + 1 million copies.
    I sure don't care about paying for a digital version of the game UNO, and I can't imagine someone caring, but it did sell.

    Well I would bet US wages are down at the moment too with their economy all shot to shit and stuff.. so I guess it kinda evens out though their prices seems much lower than the prices in Denmark. BTW. buy your games from England it's much cheaper :p

    I just pre-ordered MSG4 at 70 $.. pretty cheap :p
  • Miths #18 4 years ago

    @daedaloz

    I rarely even buy games online from Danish stores - with many releases I want to be sure I get my impatient hands on them on release day :), so I pick them up at a store rather than running the risk of having to wait an extra day on the mail, or 3-5+ days if I order from England.

    I've recently started buying Blu-ray movies and DVD season box sets from Amazon.co.uk though - there's usually a bit of money to save there, and I've also gotten hold of a few region free Blu-ray imports from the US that way.
  • WinterSnowblind #19 4 years ago

    We're only missing the clock, which boosts their collectors edition to $130, and it looks like a big pile of chunky plastic. If it was coming free with their collectors edition, I may have been annoyed, but as it is, I could care less, we're still getting all the good stuff.
  • ZuluHero #20 4 years ago

    @WinterSnowblind (edit: and Xerx3s)

    what do u mean "the good stuff"? I've yet to find a uk retailer who will tell me what the contents are in the european "collectors edition". At the moment its all pointing to the typical 'limited' steel notebook case thing. Maybe you know something that i don't?

    Look just give me a standard pack with the bobble head vault boy and I'm good.
  • Petrarch #22 4 years ago

    To the best of my knowledge the collectors edition that's available for pre-order over here contains the steel box, the bobble-head, an artwork book and of course the game itself. So while the clock is quite nice and I'd like to see them offer it this side of the pond too, at least we can still get the vault boy figure if they decide to keep the survivial edition US only.
  • WinterSnowblind #23 4 years ago

    @ZuluHero

    We're just getting the regular collectors edition, which is the same as the survival edition, minus the clock.

    To all you nay sayers who say they don't like or aren't interested in the special editions of games I say " where's your sense of fun ?" you sad spanners ( note- the word "spanner" used there instead of Fuckers ).

    I want that full US special edition with the clock and the lunchbox because its all so gloriously tacky but is also " so about the game "....I am a geek, and that is geek collection stuff.

    As for all of you who are obviously not geeks in anyway ( how can you be, you play video games )...pooey pooey pants pants is the most sensible thing I can say to you all.

    Collectors Editions, Special Editions, & Limited Editions for the win.

  • ZuluHero #27 4 years ago

    @WinterSnowblind

    but where is that info from? play, shopto, game and amazon don't seem to say what is in their "limited" editions. And the fact that they are charging an extra tenner over the standard edition doesn't make me think that what's in those limited editions are the items in the list that you posted. LEs of that type are usually £60-70.

    Master Chief's helmet is telling me to get the special edition.

    YES CHIEF!

  • LukeFX #30 4 years ago

    Europe seem to get FUCK ALL anymore, its a fucking joke, metal gear, now this, seriously its total bullshit
  • WinterSnowblind #31 4 years ago

    @ZuluHero

    Well, the Oblivion collectors edition came with very similar items, and cost around the same amount. (special case, dvd, coin, artbook), and I don't see why we'd be getting a different collectors edition from the US. All they've said is that we aren't getting the survival edition. I guess we'll know soon enough though.
