Fallout 3: Mothership Zeta dated, priced News

PC Xbox 360 PlayStation 3
News by Tom Bramwell

14 July, 2009

Bethesda has announced that Fallout 3's fifth downloadable content pack, Mothership Zeta, will be released on 3rd August on Xbox Live and Games for Windows Live for 800 Microsoft Points (GBP 6.80 / EUR 9.60).

The publisher also said a bit more about what's involved. Apparently you will fight off alien abductors to escape the eponymous mothership, making use of new weapons like the Alien Atomiser, Alien Disintegrator and Drone Cannon. New outfits include the Gemini-Era Spacesuit and Samurai Armour.

As to how you end up on Zeta, would you believe there's a strange alien signal being broadcast throughout the Capital Wasteland? It leads you to a crashed UFO, and then on to your main mission.

Check out our Fallout 3: Mothership Zeta screenshot gallery to see how it's shaping up.

Given the quality of recent Fallout 3 DLC, we'll be keen to see how it turns out. Check out our Operation: Anchorage, The Pitt, Broken Steel and Point Lookout reviews, which chart the steady improvement.

Furthermore, Bethesda has told Eurogamer that the Game of the Year edition of the game, which includes all five DLC packs and will be available for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360, is still set for release in October despite this morning's announcement that the PS3 DLC has been delayed.

I hope they raise the level cap again because I got to level 26 through Broken Steel alone.

A crashed UFO? Not the same crashed UFO all ready in the game by any chance?

@ZuluHero Indeed it is.

I'm feeling cautiously optomistic about this DLC. I still don't feel it completely fits with the established style, but it'll be fun investigate the whole alien scene.

Ah, the reason I got a bigger Hard Drive. Hopefully more developers will look at DLC to extend games as a viable option, really enjoyed the Fallout offerings.

How expensive has this game been to date?! I have just bought the original, none of the DLC (on PC)

I fail to understand why Bethesda can release the GOTY edition on time but be unable to deliver the DLC.

Honestly, i am really loosing faith in Bethesda's competence.

So... I have to visit the same UFO i've already been to? Couldn't they just add in another one?

Still, I suppose they can't just get away with re-skinning a bunch of enemies this time.

The screenshot looks like it's the same UFO crash area that's in the game already. Getting zoomed up to the mothership and having a shootout with some greys sounds like fun though.

If this is really the last F3 DLC then it should give you the option of stealing the ship and buggering of into the cosmos, never to be seen again:)

Gemini Era spacesuit, nice :)

I've waiting for all the DLC to play through as one, I didn't realise there were four packs already!

This trumps all the other DLCs put together.

The UFO crash site is up in the north. Just midway between Oasis and Vault 92 and one "square" down. You'll pick up a radio transmission when you're getting close.

I've not yet played the Broken Steel DLC yet as I've yet to complete the PC version (although I'm close). I have finished the game on the 360 but opted to purchase the DLC for what I consider to be the best version.

Of the other three DLC packs, only Point Lookout was worth the money IMO, the other two were very disappointing. Hopefully this final pack will be up to the standard of Point Lookout and not another Operation Anchorage!

Does anybody else have half the thread spoilered? Very odd.
