Fallout 3: Mothership Zeta dated, priced
Plus: GOTY edition still set for October.
Bethesda has announced that Fallout 3's fifth downloadable content pack, Mothership Zeta, will be released on 3rd August on Xbox Live and Games for Windows Live for 800 Microsoft Points (GBP 6.80 / EUR 9.60).
The publisher also said a bit more about what's involved. Apparently you will fight off alien abductors to escape the eponymous mothership, making use of new weapons like the Alien Atomiser, Alien Disintegrator and Drone Cannon. New outfits include the Gemini-Era Spacesuit and Samurai Armour.
As to how you end up on Zeta, would you believe there's a strange alien signal being broadcast throughout the Capital Wasteland? It leads you to a crashed UFO, and then on to your main mission.

Given the quality of recent Fallout 3 DLC, we'll be keen to see how it turns out. Check out our Operation: Anchorage, The Pitt, Broken Steel and Point Lookout reviews, which chart the steady improvement.
Furthermore, Bethesda has told Eurogamer that the Game of the Year edition of the game, which includes all five DLC packs and will be available for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360, is still set for release in October despite this morning's announcement that the PS3 DLC has been delayed.

I'm feeling cautiously optomistic about this DLC. I still don't feel it completely fits with the established style, but it'll be fun investigate the whole alien scene.

I've waiting for all the DLC to play through as one, I didn't realise there were four packs already!

This trumps all the other DLCs put together.

Of the other three DLC packs, only Point Lookout was worth the money IMO, the other two were very disappointing. Hopefully this final pack will be up to the standard of Point Lookout and not another Operation Anchorage!
