Fallen Earth open beta next week News

Fallen Earth - an independently-developed post-apocalyptic PC MMO set in a Mad Max-style society living in the Grand Canyon - will go into open beta next Monday, 17th August.

According to the official announcement, you'll be able to register to take part and download the client at Fileplanet from 5pm UK time this Friday, 14th August.

Fallen Earth boasts a classless, skill-based advancement system, detailed crafting and a first-person shooter gameplay style. We saw it at GDC back in March and liked the setting, but thought the execution was rather rough-and-ready. It will be interesting to see how it's come on in the last few months.

ya never heard of it... and problem for MMOs imho is that alot of people will be waiting for the major ones such as champions or Star Trek... dont want to waste time on others as there isnt enough time in the day these days.

tbh, the moron masses not turning up at the start of your mmo is a good thing. gives u time to iron out all the bugs, and get the game working nicely. and then to slowly build up your userbase on word of mouth.

Been playing in the CB for several months now and while it's no where near ready for launch it still has the potential to be a very good MMO. Sign up and give it a go.

There was a 90's game called Fallen Earth made by Kalypso, if I remember correctly (haven't even played it but I heard it was a must-see adventure). But I can't find it anywhere on the web, or a reference to it. Does anyone else recall of i?
