Fable II reveal delayed News

Xbox 360 News by Dan Pearson

19 November, 2008

The big Fable II anouncement mooted last week on the Fable II dev blog has been delayed until Monday the 24th.

The reason given on the latest dev update was that "the big bods over in Redmond" thought the week was probably busy enough, what with all that New Xbox Experience jazz.

This seems reasonable, and a Fable II theme was offered as compensation. But does this stymie suggestions that the update is NXE-related? There were myriad theories, from in-game avatar support to NXE-branded clothing. Perhaps Peter Molyneux will be available as a costume.

Suggestions in the comments thread please. Keep an eye out next Monday for the 'big' reveal.

Perhaps Peter Molyneux will be available as a costume.

He likes xbox-men getting 'into' him.

If there is DLC on the horizon I'd happily purchase if there was something worth playing (i.e. new areas and quests). I'm not paying for new clothes/tattoos/weapons, though will happily take those for free! ;D

I might. \/_\/

Not that I'm not perfectly happy with my crop top jacket, hot pants and thigh boot combo. Is there anybody out there who's character isn't dressed like that?

With an eye-patch, powdered wig and twirly moustache, he looks really quite dapper.

The Fable II reveal: that's it's not really very good? :P

My dog is dead so dog armour somewhat useless, as is continuing to put time into the game now he's gone.

What would be the point of any DLC - nobody is still playing this game are they? I put 50 hours in but 40 hours of that were trying to get girl-on-girl sex!

50 - 40... That explains my stopping after less than 10, I suppose. Don't you have an internet connection? ;)

Yeah ... going to have to be pretty awesome to make me stop playing fallout 3. I've finished fable and not that keen on a replay.

Still ... you never know. I'll be back on Monday

I think it's going to be some kind of tweak to the co-op, which I really wouldn't be arsed about. In an ideal world, it'd be a brand new area of Albion which is the same size as the entire rest of the world, with a self-contained 5 hour story and ten brand new sidequests.

THAT'D be big news. And would make me a very happy bunny indeed, what with Fable II being my personal game of the year and all.

Wishful thinking? Course. But sometimes wishes can come true.

They're announcing Fable II mmorpg which will be launch in June 09. You'll require the original Fable II disk to play along with 4.5GB download and an xbox live gold account. In the meantime an update will be released on 27th Nov fixing various issues (no multiple save though, Peter doesn't think it real-world enough!) and allowing you to use your Fable II character as your NXE avatar. I know this because I've just been fired by lionhead for lying...

I hope it is a way to get my dog back, as I made the stupidest choice at the end of the game. If that is what it is, THEN I will go back to playing Fable II.

Like with the original fable - where you had to buy the "special edition" to get the full game...

So they give us a theme "for compensation".....at 250 points. Surely, if they want to apologise for a delay to DLC, they should give us the theme for free.

Maybe it'll merely be something to do with the NXE. Fable II clothing for your avatar or something similar.

From Cambridge Online Dictionaries:

Seriously over-rated. I liked it but it's a generous 8 from me and a 7 at best taking into account the bugs and other technical shortcomings.

Most disappointing of all is the gimped co-op which my mate and I had been looking forward to for ages ...

Having skipped a couple of generations of gaming, I've never witnessed PM's much talked about inability to deliver on what he talks about but I understand it now. Fable II is only 60-70% complete IMO and I don't mean to be rude but it makes me wonder WTF they were all doing for years when you see the final credits and the sheer number of devs on the project - they must have public-sector levels of individual productivity there - life is too comfortable at Lionhead Towers methinks ...
