  • Rusta #2 5 years ago

enjoyed the first one, so the precom might happen
  • captainrentboy #3 4 years ago

That forest one has some fooking lovely lighting. Man I hope this one lives up to the hype, but as it's Lionhead, I'm guessing it'll only end up dissapointing somehow.
  • MrsPacMan #4 4 years ago

    @captainrentboy

Agreed!! Fable had such potential but was so disappointing. I hope they sort out the loading for this one. Having to load to run down 100 metres of forest path and then load again was very very shite

Lets hope Fable 2 is what fable should have been
  • Vin #5 4 years ago

    That looks fucking brilliant.
  • MrWonderstuff #6 4 years ago

Yea very atmospheric. Looking forward to this one.
  • Razorus #7 4 years ago

So beautiful! The art style is fantastic, as is the atmosphere. It was so refreshing to see a game which looked and "felt" English, 'twas all so quaint and lovely. Jolly good game old boy, what what.
  • Triggerhappytel #8 4 years ago

Loving the art style, but I thought Fable was a bit pants. Hoping this one doesn't dissappoint.
  • NewbieZilla #9 4 years ago

No way in hell will I treat this as a day one purchase. I made that mistake with Fable. Will not be able to trust reviews, either, really. I mean, Fable already didn't deserve anything higher than a 7. And thats a low 7 in my books.
  • MikeP #10 4 years ago

    My, that looks lovely.

I really enjoyed the original, my only big gripe was the frequently loading pauses. If they can get the environment to stream in like Crackdown and Halo that'd be really good.
  • LetsGo #11 4 years ago

Whats with the Fable1 screenshots? I thought this was the Fable2 gallery?

    @LetsGo

LOL was just about to say the same

shame PM has lost the plot since B&W he still thinks his games are fucking ace and orginal shame he cant see most are just dungeon keeper.
  • MuppetThumper #13 4 years ago

just doesn't float my boat this.
  • JediMasterMalik #14 4 years ago

Lots of little aliasing at full screen, hope they get that sorted, caue it look fine otherwise.
  • L42yB #15 4 years ago

    Pretty :)

I too was dissappointed with Fable 1, but only because I was expecting much more than it was after all the hype. If I'd just got it without reading so much about it first I think I would have enjoyed it much more... and I got really annoyed when they released "The Lost Chapters", which just made me feel like I'd been ripped off buying it when it originally came out :(

I think I will have to wait until this one has been out a few months b4 buying it...
  • Psychotext #16 4 years ago

@JediMasterMalik: How hard did you look to find that? :P
  • JediMasterMalik #17 4 years ago

I clicked "full screen" It's pretty obvious. It was in the alst bunch of shots too. Don't you see it?
  • captainrentboy #18 4 years ago

Anyone stating that this looks like Fable 1, graphically, is basically talking out of their fucking arse.
That screenie with the snow falling in the town centre is friggin beeeautiful.
  • Psychotext #19 4 years ago

@JediMasterMalik: To be honest... no. Nothing obvious anyway. Which one has it worst?
  • JediMasterMalik #20 4 years ago

Sorry not full screen, but the view original button, pretty much every screen that's not a 3d render shows obvious aliasing.

    Try screen 3.
  • Psychotext #21 4 years ago

@JediMasterMalik: Oh... you mean the dotted looking thing on the texture edges in places? That's not aliasing... but yeah, it doesn't look great.
  • JediMasterMalik #22 4 years ago

Isn't it, thought it was :/ What's it called?

Well whatever it is, it's on a lot of UE3 games as well, can't stand it.
  • richardiox #23 4 years ago

Can 't see any aliasing either, looks very smooth round the edges of the character models on the newest shots.
  • Ged42 #24 4 years ago

*casts pinch of salt (+2 defense against bulls**t)*

This does look good, it looks like it has a lot more life than some fantasy games i've seen. But im always cautious of getting too excited about anything Peter Molenyeux is involved in.

oh and I bagsy the name Dogmeat for my dog
  • penhalion #25 4 years ago

Fable 1 was seriously disapointing. For a game about choices, your choices made zero difference. You got to the end and still got to either kill or not kill for the good or bad ending. And why the frak did my character age in fly years i.e. years in hours. By the end he was this old white haired dude! Looked more like Gandalf than the master swords fighter he was supposed to be.
  • Skywise #26 4 years ago

It looks quite nice and I enjoyed the original a lot. But I was a bit pissed too that they released The Lost Chapters shortly after.
So I'll just wait for Fable 2: The Lost Chapters this time or until it's cheap :-)
  • smelly #27 4 years ago

    BROWN

    Its the future!
  • TitusCrow #28 4 years ago

honestly - do you expect some sort of evolving world in a this-gen console game? Be realistic. :)

in saying that the art style fking blinds me , im really hoping this is great.
  • Widge #29 4 years ago

Nice shots/art. Reminds me of Final Fantasy 9.
  • mikew1985 #30 4 years ago

    looks so lurvly!

More and more so as time goes by :)
  • Wash #31 4 years ago

    Looks good.

The co-op henchmen videos and ability to jump over fences, removing the on rails single path ways exploits of the original make this a must purchase for me.

  • Eraysor #32 4 years ago

If all that is in game I am surprisingly impressed.
  • mkreku #33 4 years ago

It looks absolutely horrible. Horrible art direction, horrible bloom (My eyes! They're bleeding!) and horrible camera angles! And the colours?! Holy crap!
  • Benno #34 4 years ago

  • miiiguel #35 4 years ago

"It looks absolutely horrible. Horrible art direction, horrible bloom (My eyes! They're bleeding!) and horrible camera angles! And the colours?! Holy crap! "
Agree, worse game ever! It plays awfully too, slugish and all.
  • Skywise #36 4 years ago

I'm going to wait on how Fable 2: The Lost Chapters turns out :-)
  • bitesize #37 4 years ago

i think it looks quite superb personally, digging the art style.

no idea which are the new shots tho - are they at the start or the end of the gallery? wish EG would post a new story with some new shots so we can tell which is which, rather than just lumping them in with all the rest...
  • Bertie Verified Senior Staff Writer, Eurogamer.net #38 4 years ago

Sorry, yes it is a bit confusing. The new ones are the first three screens. I like the watercolour effect.

I'm really not sure how people can say this game doesn't look amazing...

I am not much of an RPG man, but this looks great.

  • Wildsleven #42 4 years ago

first game was alright, hated the laoding screens so please please please no more loading screens for fable 2
  • bonker #43 4 years ago

Well I'm sold on this already just looking at the screenies, big bonus to the art guys for this one I reckon!

Seriously, it looks incredible and even if the game is rubbish, I'll buy it just to look at it.

And not a gun in sight- hurrah!!!
  • RazorObsession #44 4 years ago

it wasn't so much what was in fable that pissed me off, but what was not, and it wasn't even the hype that got me all hot and bothered it was mollys bloody promises that never came good.

Twas so long ago now, i cant remember specifics, but i seem to recall reading somewhere that i should technically be able to skin children and wear said skins as a cape, (the trophies were supposed to be fully customizable, not just an ornament for a house or some such) but the censors had their way/Molly was chatting shit/internets got too carried away and the rest is history.

i'm hoping that this time you can be a chaste angelic hero or a truly evil bastard, with the relevant consequences and look the part too, not just the same cut and paste character doing the same missions, looking the same, and following the same storyline.

    brothel and pimp hat FTW!
  • creepylizard #45 4 years ago

as long as it last longer than the first one......and as long as molly doesn't act like he's reinventing the fecking rpg wheel like last time when in fact all he's making is a polished, well made action rpg..
  • AphoticCosmos #46 4 years ago

  • bluebird #47 4 years ago

Curious how this will turn out. Don't like the character art tho, too doll-like, but that's just my taste. The rest looks good.
  • php_penguin #48 4 years ago

a few of these 'new' pics are old... by quite a while as well.

    Still, looks nice.
  • BTBAM #49 4 years ago

It looks lovely. I'm very excited.

However I was also annoyed with TLC. It looked, to me, that they'd taken bits out of the game with the intention of releasing TLC later on.
  • parablax #50 4 years ago

oooh, wow, more paths. There is no way this is gong to be 'free-roaming'.

I think I can safely say, without any fear of contradiction, that Peter Molyneaux never said you would be able to skin children and wear said skins as a cape.
  • Xerx3s #52 4 years ago

He made comments on stuff like that. That he would say something like: we are thinking about this and the next thing they would know is that it would be on the internet as a fact and then spinning wildly out of control as people just added their own wishes to it.
  • kangarootoo #53 4 years ago

"I think I can safely say, without any fear of contradiction, that Peter Molyneaux never said you would be able to skin children and wear said skins as a cape."

Well for starters, you would probably need 2 or 3 of them to make a decent sized cape. You wouldn't want a kid-skin cape that only went half way down your back... I mean, that would just be weird, right?
  • Krelle #54 4 years ago

Uh oh..is that a "path" I see in a few screenshots? I thought this was supposed to be open-world like Oblivion? (Outside of towns aswell!)

Did like the first one thou. Will pick this up for the lurvly artstyle alone.
  • Krelle #55 4 years ago

    farts:
I didnt really like Oblivion, so I agree with you about that. The wastness bored me.

But I do think Fable would be even -better- if you could walk around freely and not feel so trapped as you did in the first one.
Also, Peter said it would BE more of an open-world feel to F2, so my biggest problem is really; Did I fall for one of his lies again?
Say what you want about Peter, but he knows how to sell a game.

  • MrChuckles #56 4 years ago

If you walk through the countryside, you follow a path, that does mean that you can't walk off the path and into the fields...

F1 was much more limited with the Xbox 1's memory size, i expect F2 will have larger more free roaming areas, although, like oblivion, i expect it'll have some tight cave systems too. It's more difficult to make good gameplay if the player can go 'everywhere'.
