sounds seriously over ambitious. I'll take the usual "it's Molenaux so wait and see what the game actually contains" approach.

Wasn't convinced before, but it sounds really good the way you word it. Still not convinced graphics wise, the speckling is annoying as hell and the textures aren't amazing, but it looks passable.

Well, if it does insist on having multiplayer, at least it supports offline co-op. I'm glad Lionhead haven't forgotten that people like to still play on the same console.

Still, I don't reckon the game will last long, nor offer much depth. I'm thinking 'Oblivion-light', which has me chuckling, since Oblivion is essentially 'Morrowind-light'.

The gfx look amazing. I'm still wary about this game. I followed fable 1 years before it came out, like some kind of deranged celebrity stalker. When it came out it was a BIG letdown. Loading the screen every minute pissed me off and the game didnt have much depth. I remember when they said fable 1 was going to be a sandbox, that got cut out eventually. The game wasn't particularly long for a rpg. This game looks like it has invisible walls and linear paths from the pictures. Lets hope Peter "close, but no cigar" molyneux pulls this one off.

I'll definetely be getting it but why do they have to just overcomplicate the fecking thing. can't they just make a really great action rpg? why do they have to add all that other bollocks to it? multiplayer, pregnant players....my minds gone blank now but generally all that other rubbish that molyneux feels the need to foist on everyone to show how innovative he is(is?) whether we want it or not...?

I loved the first Fable. It was almost like the Zelda game I always wanted it just fell a lot short of that. I have high hopes for this

Fable 1 on the Xbox was a pretty big let down. I enjoyed the story telling portions, but there was something missing from the gameplay. The combat, equipment variety, enemy variety, and morality scale were adequate but not compelling. Although it looks pretty from the screenshots, I'll be giving it a test drive before I make a commitment.

I loved Fable precisely because it was twice as wide as it was long. Far, far too many games focus only on length to the point they are tedious messes. Still, as with the first I'm concerned all this about pregnant players, co-op and rhythm based combat will lead to the cake made of icing Fable 1 only just managed to avoid.

So well over 2,5 million for Fable alone - not including the TLC pack they released on the pc and xbox later on - is average sales nowadays? I think that there are a lot of dev's out there that would go to great lengths to get those numbers.

I hope the developers fix that tearing I've seen in the latest videos; after all the original Fable was plagued with it. That aside, I thought the first game was merely good rather than exceptional; definitely a case of Peter Molyneux overpromising on its feature so it ultimately came across as a disappointment IMO. The sequel is looking much, much better though so I'm actually looking forward to this despite not really enjoying the original that much. I love the idea of having a dog ingame, that's such a cute touch. :)

All kinds of awesome, with an awesome chaser! This has GOTY plastered all over it for me. Definitely my most anticipated game of the show.

It's actually sounding like it has many more features than PM has hyped. He really has learnt his lesson and is delivering all he promised and more.

Not that Fable 1 didnt deliver a bloody awesome action RPG. Few games I've bought twice or replayed as many times as fable.

Meh, if this game is 1 million miles away from oblivion i'll be happy. good game, but fable will hopefully correct what was wrong with it. I.e story, graphics, animations, ai, bugs.

Sounds good tho, day 1 for me, loved the previous attempt.

Good stuff... loved the first one. This one can't go wrong. We need more RPGs that have a more European fantasy world IMHO.

I hope the gameplay and 'revolutionary' choice elements save this game because its generic storyline and game world won't. Really have high hopes for it like I did the first Fable (and even though it disappointed, I still thoroughly enjoyed it) so here's hopin'.

I really liked Fable, but I felt it was somewhat hamstrung by technology - maybe they aimed too high. This time, everything looks right. The combat, the co-op, the dog, the WORLD...

I'm preordering as soon as a) I find out for sure how the free XBLA thing works, and b) I find out for certain there's a limited edition.

Lemme guess... you like cross dressing apocalyptic emo JRPG kids saving the universe with swords?

If you want "good" fantasy stories read a book. You are in the wrong hobby.

I was gagging for this anyway, now I'm bone-hard with anticipation.

I'd still like more details on what you can and can't do together over Live co-op as this is the real USP for me.

Molyneux banging on about not looking for the pre-arranged co-op slant (which is EXACTLY what I want to do with my mate/s) has me concerned that he's setting expectations re the co-op play, as in there's a ton of stuff that you can't do but here's hoping ...

This could be the first real ground-breaking 'next-gen' game that we've seen ...

I totally agree. Co-op play with random people you don't know is rarely satisfying, as the internet is mostly full of nobheads with ADD (especial XBL).

"That sounds close to impossible, and once again, there are signs that the clutter of sheer creativity on display may result in a game that's twice as wide as it is long. But the difference this time is that we're playing the most interesting features instead of just hearing about them."

Another difference: the possibility of on-going downloadable content.

I don't think its unfair, or being in the wrong hobby, to expect or want a decent story. maybe years ago when games were obviously more basic but now, with games trying their best to tell some kind of interactive story why wouldn't the story be evaluated accordingly?
Do you realise they probably have proper writers and everything working on the script? I doubt the plot was something the accountant knocked up in his lunch break....

I'm leaking piss in anticipation. This looks perfect. Fable 1 was a 10/10 game for me, purely out of the levels of enjoyment I got out of it. It's the game I've replayed the most, and I cannot wait for this. If it's only a little bit better than Fable 1 it'll be my favourite game of all time. If I can reduce my Football Manager addiction, anyway.

Not particularly bothered about the online aspect, but at least this will have more character and charm than something like Oblivion, which had pretty fuck all.

Fable had a generic game world? There must be a lot more fantasy RPGs based in fairytale-like worlds than I realised. Last time I looked it was all Tolkienesque orcs and elves and dwarves.

"Tapping in time with the rhythm of the music also enhances attacks": I'd personally mark that one down as one pretty stupid idea.

It will be a major surprise if this game breaks the PM mould of disparate, buggy elements fighting for a cohesive form.

I'm an old fart who's been gaming for damn near 25 years, and I have to say....this is my most anticipated game ever! Every article I read on it just makes it sound better and better. I loved the 1st Fable, despite its shortcomings, so I can only imagine how much I'll love this!

These last 2 months are going to be hell!
