Fable 2 gets October date

It's finally "finished" - Molyneux.

Peter Molyneux has said Fable 2 will be released in October.

Confirmation came at the end of a playable demonstration during the Microsoft E3 press conference, which revealed the role-playing game is finally "finished".

We were also introduced to the purple orbs dotted around the world. These represent your friends playing their single-player game, and you can go up to them and invite them straight into your world.

"No lobbies, just that immediacy of being able to call people into your world," said Molyneux.

You can read much more about how that works in our extensive hands-on with Fable 2, which went live earlier this evening.

You can also pop over to our live text coverage of the Microsoft E3 press conference to see what else happened.

Miserable sods... I for one, cannot wait for this game! Loved the first Fable, even if it didn't live up to my expectations. And does this mean... that... it... IS co-op over Live?!? /swoon

If it is "finished" then why don't they release

Or is this more like a valve/blizzard "finished"...

How can anyone be negative about this? The original was a stellar title. An enjoyable RPG withought needless hours of boring filler side-quests (YES Oblivion - I mean you!!!). Being a gamer with too little time these days, Fable was a perfect fit for me. A sequel with online co-op sounds perfect.

This in October, Gears in November.

    @JSPOOLE

I hope I havent hurt your feelings.

That was many years ago, and is irrelevant now, not least because many people felt Fable failed to live up to expectation. I can see this sequel being another Viva Pinata.

Yo can turn off that purple orb thing right cause that would just ruin the game for me.

I need someone to confirm, definitively, that this will have fully integrated/interactive co-op play via Live!

I.E. not just bump into your mates and talk to them via voice etc.

Edit: OK there's lots of stuff on EG's play-test which sounds great but I'd still like more on the co-op constraints - review it already will ya?! :)

"Yo can turn off that purple orb thing right cause that would just ruin the game for me. "

Some people are just afraid too meet other people. Antisocial beings obviously. This could be the feature that make me want the game. I didnt like Oblivion much btw too long and too boring. This could be something else hopefully imo.

And the game will sell incredibly well no matter what. many many gamers has this as they GOTY candidate number one. I dont though im more of a Gears 2 type i guess.
