F.E.A.R. 2: Reborn demo released News

Xbox 360 PlayStation 3 News by Tom Bramwell

28 August, 2009

Warner Bros. and Monolith have announced the release of a playable demo of F.E.A.R. 2: Reborn, the upcoming story-based premium download for its multiformat first-person shooter.

Reborn itself is due out on 3rd September for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360, and in it you play as Replica Soldier Foxtrot 813. Spooky.

The demo is up on PS3 and Xbox 360 now, and weighs in 670MB on the latter, to give you an idea of download time.

There's still no word on pricing for the finished thing, and when we tried to find out from the official website we realised we didn't have the will to survive all its Flash, beanies and mystery.

Although we will ask Warner Bros., obviously.

Xbox 360 owners can also look forward to a free patch on 3rd September, which introduces a new slow-motion deathmatch mode.

Am I right to assume that this is more an expansion (in its classic sense) than a run-of-the-mill DLC?

I am really looking forward to this, I really loved Fear 2 on my trusty PC only complaint I had was it didn't support the 360 controller natively but that was soon sorted.

Great to hear this is coming out on the PC too next week. F.E.A.R. 2 (on the PC) was really excellent, loved every second of it, well apart from the woefully underwhelming ending.

@IneptPercy - F.E.A.R. 2 on the PC now supports the Xbox 360 controller...? I didn't know that...

Must be fairly hefty in DLC terms if they're offering a demo of it! There wasn't a demo of The Lost & The Damned, was there?

I was really disappointed with this game, far too easy even on the hardest setting slo mo wasnt really required, they stripped everything that made F.E.A.R great and turned it into a very genreic and dare i say boring.

Awful, awful demo. I don't think they could have picked a more boring setting.
