    Really like the contrast and finish to these shots. Got to wonder how much of that is engine and how much is photoshop though.

    Wow, that's really looking fantastic. But yeah, I am a little sceptical as well.

    Looks a bit like target renders to me.

    And where's the Italian motoring? The shots show an S-Type Jaguar and a bunch of BMWs.

    Looks like someone has been watching too much Top Gear with the circular vignette...

    @Gnort

    Do they race any Italian V8s? Do they even make any?
  • Gnort #7 3 years ago

    @Slayaz

    Well, Ferrari and Maserati both make (and race) V8 engined cars, but not sedans like are shown in the shots (apart from the Maserati Quattroporte, which they don't race).

    I was commenting on the strapline "Italian motoring for PC, PS3 and 360", btw, not suggesting that there should be Italian cars in the game.

    Looks amazing, but the real question is – how does it play? Is it an arcade or simulation game? Or have enough features to turn it into an arcade racer (ie. Forza 2). I assume it will pander to the automatic gearbox, ABS and traction control lovers.

    "Superstars V8 Racing is an officially licensed game based on the European Superstars Championship, which is based in Italy. The game will include car marques such as Audi, BMW, Mercedes, Jaguar & Chrysler."

    So, no actual Italian cars then. Video on Daily Motion looks less impressive...

    FWIW, the shots do have pretty obvious aliasing and some low-poly corner-cutting if you look at the full-res versions. I am not convinced they're bullshots. And it's not like it's really looking better than GRiD, so I don't see why they shouldn't be real.

    Time will tell.
