Exclusive Free Running trailer

On Eurogamer TV.

If you've been lurking around Eurogamer TV, you may have noticed an exclusive trailer for PS2 and PSP title, Free Running.

Developed by Rebellion, the game is based on the sport of Le Parkour, or Free Running, and is due for release in March.

Included are 60 different challenges across three distinctly different zones, as well as nine different single and multiplayer modes.

Probably the most recognised figure of this urban phenomenon is Sebastien Foucan, who features in the game as a playable character. Considered to be one of the two originators of the sport, he has appeared in two Channel 4 documentaries and the recent James Bond film, Casino Royale.

Le Parkour came to the attention of the masses after Jump London aired on Channel 4 back in early 2005. The documentary followed three Frenchmen who literally sprung from one London landmark to another.

Ogle at the new screenshots in our gallery, or head over to the game's website for more information.

    Well spotted.

The footage from Jump London was taken back in 2003, must've been inspired by that.

Why does this trailer look worse than the previous trailer which was released two years ago?

Parkour is not Freerunning, but it doesn't matter anyway, cos this game looks sh*t.

"although one is just an evolution of the other in ways"

I forget which is which, but I believe one is based on the style and poise of the movements, whereas the other (parkour I think) is about taking the shortest/fastest route between points in an urban environment. Sounds like you guys know, so you could probably clarify.

As I metioned on the thread attached to the movie, I think the controls will count for everything in this game, so it might be a little early to say whether it looks good or not.

Losers. This was known as "running round like a tit" when I was a kid. Get a life and compete in a REAL sport.

    Free running?

    Free bumming more like.

Kanga, listen, really, really don't get involved in the "parkour" vs. "freerunning" debate. Trust me. It can only end in tears. It's one of the most painful and undying debates I've ever seen, up there with "define art". And calling it a "debate" is incredibly polite.

    What's that noise?

    *cups hand around ear*

    Uh oh.

A thousand running feet, coming here to tell you about the thread they read on urbanfreeflow about how Sebastien is a poopyhead who was actually only tacetly involved in the genesis of the sport, and how he's now riding the hype, and broke some promise about not appearing in a movie with guns in it (haha - that's such a unrealistic thing for a stuntman to promise).

You've done it now, eurogamer, but don't say I didn't warn you: Your only defense is to get in a car and just drive away just slightly faster than they can run.

Yeah, but you'll notice it doesn't work and you end up dead.
