Is the Patapon demo going to be on the PSN store? Have a Mac. Why isn't it on the PSN store? How silly.

"I still think it is only another pretty twin stick shooter"

Have you played it? Halo or Half Life are just another FPS, if you don't look beyond the basics. Nucleus and Blast Factor are just pretty (ish) twin sticks, but 10 minutes with this shows it's a whole bunch more.

@Septimus - sounds like you really gave it a long go huh?

See, things like this are why I went back to the Playstation - I just couldn't see things like Pain (eventually) ES, Fl0w or LBP being released by Microsoft. Sure, they have Geo Wars etc., and it's great, but it's still a very conventional presentation. Guitar music for a shooter? It's like R-Type where the R stands for Radiohead. Maybe they could rebrand it as OK Computer - the Game.

One thing not mentioned in the review though, is that because it's based on music tracks, there's very little audio cues from your actions, except a quiet guitar twang instead of an explosion. Couple that to your pixel sized ship/gun/thing, and there's a big lack of feedback, and it's easy to lose yourself in the mayhem. Never really realised how important the sounds in Startdust HD are. And it would be a better game (IMHO) if they locked the ship/gun/thingo in the centre of the screen like Stardust and scrolled around - it's the only real way you'd be able to keep track of yourself.

Still - stylish, original, fun, hard, brilliant. 12 bucks well spent.

Have to echo a particular sentiment you have expressed there. Certain games I like - in terms of style and content - I can only see coming on Playstation formats. Stuff like LBP would have put money on being a game coming to PS3 from a single screen shot because of the style and look. Hard to pin point what it is exactly, but it's there. Maybe I'm just suckered in by branding :)
