That's very pretty. Makes Homeworld look like someone sneezed on the monitor.

Wow!
To be honest this is the first time since I booted up Mario 64 that I have gasped at a game/screenshot.
Very lovely indeed.
I used to play Planetarion until I got bored of it in the 3rd round.

So, after the initial shock - some questions :

1. In-game shots or 'concept art'?
2. What kind of a bloody PC are you going to need? :-(

If those are actual in-game shots, this could quite possibly be the most beautiful game of all time.

You might want to check this out then. I've been at it for a few days now and it's like playing Planetarion in real-time with 3D graphics.

Probably the same one we need for Doom3! Now I remember why I stopped buying PC games and turned to consoles.

Very pretty, but bear in mind that this may not need *too* high a spec machine. Think about it, most of these shots (the internal 'space-dock' nonwithstanding) are a few high-poly ships lit by one or two directional lights in a pretty empty world with a pretty skybox. Not the most demanding of situations for a decent graphics card.

[Edit: better English]
Still very pretty, however :)

Hah, I told you guys before, this game rules. The hardware necessary for this shouldn't be too steep, I know they said some previous screenshots were rendered on high-end GF2 setups, although I'm sure they've long since migrated to GF3/4 systems.

Wobbler is right, though, and I think space games routinely looked better than others because it's much easier to display the emptiness of space in a very pretty way than to display, say, a jungle. I mean, people like looking at those spacy backgrounds on their own - add nifty spaceships, explosions and very round planets to the equation and you've got EVE.

As for the current status of the game, I'm not too worried. No (significant) news for beta testers after half a year doesn't mean a whole lot in the case of MMRPGs, I'm pretty sure the game was vividly displayed on this year's E3 and got a very positive reaction, so I don't think development has ceased or anything. Simon & Schuster, while not known (to me) for anything but very popular yet crappy games, seems to be pretty dedicated about their first MMRPG.

This is just sooooooo pretty. Almost enough to make me get back into PC games. Almost. But not quite.

Just to be contrary, I think the shots could do with some FSAA, there are a few jaggies here and there that a bit of antialias would sort.

This is looking rather good, hopefully I'll get into the beta but as I've been signed up for it for so bloody long I doubt it.

The beta has only just started, and with only 5000 testers to boot. They'll gradually raise the number, so you'll end up in it eventually, as will I.

Anyone seen Haegemonia in action? Looks extremely nice as well, not quite as nice as Eve, but still. For Haegemonia, imagine Homeworld x20.

Tried to play to the demo but couldn't really get a handle on the controls very well. You're right it does look very nice though.
