To be honest this is the first time since I booted up Mario 64 that I have gasped at a game/screenshot.
Very lovely indeed.
I used to play Planetarion until I got bored of it in the 3rd round.

1. In-game shots or 'concept art'?
2. What kind of a bloody PC are you going to need? :-(

You might want to check this out then. I've been at it for a few days now and it's like playing Planetarion in real-time with 3D graphics.

Probably the same one we need for Doom3! Now I remember why I stopped buying PC games and turned to consoles.

[Edit: better English]
Still very pretty, however :)

Wobbler is right, though, and I think space games routinely looked better than others because it's much easier to display the emptiness of space in a very pretty way than to display, say, a jungle. I mean, people like looking at those spacy backgrounds on their own - add nifty spaceships, explosions and very round planets to the equation and you've got EVE.
As for the current status of the game, I'm not too worried. No (significant) news for beta testers after half a year doesn't mean a whole lot in the case of MMRPGs, I'm pretty sure the game was vividly displayed on this year's E3 and got a very positive reaction, so I don't think development has ceased or anything. Simon & Schuster, while not known (to me) for anything but very popular yet crappy games, seems to be pretty dedicated about their first MMRPG.

Tried to play to the demo but couldn't really get a handle on the controls very well. You're right it does look very nice though.
