Yes, I own a 40GB. Played MGS4 (reason for buying), Uncharted (excellent), Heavenly Sword (borrowed so not finished).

lol. I admire their business achievement, it's simply phenomenal. How often do you see a company get the better of two ridiculously strong competitors by such modest means? But the only Nintendo console I ever owned was a GC and I barely played it. Do have a DS though (and barely play that as well, just like the PSP I might add).

Because the facts lead me no other choice. The 360 is doing poorly and the trend is declining sales which simply doesn't bode well for the future. PS3 is doing poorly as well (even poorer than the 360 in it's first 2 years) but the trend is pointing upwards which gives Sony something to dream about though its obvious it will be almost impossible to replicate PS2 success (so ps3 is doing better in its second year than in its first, while the 360 did worse in its second year and very likely will do worse again in its third even if it sells as much consoles in the last three months of the year as it did in the first 8.5 months).

But if you say something overtly possitive about a company around here you must hate it and love the opposition. I do neither.

i think that for this price, and with the back catalogue of games that the xbox360 has, you'd have to be a massive sonyfanboy not to want one. I know a few people who had PS3s and they've said they're gonna pick one of these up, fucking unbelievable stuff! I was thinking about getting a new and bigger harddrive because mine's finally filling up, but I might just get a whole new xbox as well

Of all the consoles on the market the Wii surely represents the least value to anybody who really loves games.

Most of the games on the Wii, if you can call some of them games that is, have sub PS2 graphics, shallow gameplay and silly novelty controls.

If the Wii is the future then proper gaming doesn't have a future at least not one I want a part of.

Lastly, the Wii isn't the "future of gaming" in any case. Perhaps motion sensing (once it actually gets, you know, decent, as in 1:1 movement) COUPLED with good tech, may be the future of gaming. Lets not forget that most people who buy a wii are families who buy it for wii sports and crap party games - maybe it's the future of casual gaming.

Anyway, what's your point? The 360 and PS3 blow the Wii away even on an SDTV.

The Wii is (IMO) a party machine, it does have a few 'proper' games like Mario Galaxy, Metroid, etc, but it isn't for me, I did buy one at launch but ended up selling it as it just didn't push my buttons so to speak. I have always loved Ninty, I've owned every single one of their systems for the last 25 years and still do own two SNESzszsez, an NES, an N64 and two Gamecubes. I have owned every mainstream console ever made by all the main companies (AFAIK) except the Virtualboy thingy. I have never sold a console (that was still supported with new software) until I sold my Wii, and no, I'm not being a cock like smelly and just 'pretending' to have sold it to wind up Ninty fans. I really didn't like the console or its control mechanism. My 9 year old nieces however do love the thing, they can't get enough of playing Mario Kart online. So, in general, I think it's great for kids and the occasional drunken night in with your mates. It's almost a different form of entertainment from PC/PS3/360 gaming (of which I prefer all on a day to day basis). That said, I still have no derogatory comments towards those who do like the system, although, I can't see the Wii 2 having the same impact as I believe the novelty may have worn thin by the time of its release...We'll see...

If only there was this sort of competition in the gas industry.

My points were that no matter what the price cut is .. the 360 will still struggle to outsell the wii. That's not being a troll.. that's stating an opinion.

I'd agree on points 1 and 3.. But I fail to see how you can say "shallow gameplay" when 99% of 360 games consist of pointing a cursor at something and pressing the right trigger...
