Fallout 3 definatley no.1! No question. swap GTA IV and SR2 around and even more spot on.

Can't really disagree with most of the entries, although Saint's Row 2 being that high surprised me. Smash Bros NOT high enough either! And given many, MANY grumblings about GTA4 from a lot of people I know then surprised to still see it in #2. Ah well, let's see how it compares to Eurogamer's own list... |

Graphics aren't everything (and quite often they're nothing). ---------------- wtf are you talking about men??? graphics are very importante dude, they contribute to the immersiveness and atmosphere of a game like no other thing, gameplay makes the game functional and yes its important, but sayin something like (and quite often they're nothing) in what concerns graphics is ridiculous, a real gamer should care for graphics as well unless you only play MegaDrive.

You know, for a user-voted list, I think that's actually a damn good summary of 2008. I probably would have put a few things lower (Burnout Paradise and GTA4 for being brilliant smoke and mirrors technology hiding average design) but otherwise that's a top 50 I can get behind... Which means I'll probably utterly disagree with the staff's top 50 :D |

Alas, no LOTRO: Mines of Moria to be seen.
Pleased Lost Odyssey and Valkyria Chronicles got a look in, and I can't argue with Fallout 3 being GOTY, it was a talking point for my mates for weeks after its release. I would have liked to see Saints Row 2 higher than GTA IV. I know it was never going to happen, but it is a much more entertaining game with less piss-annoying bugs. Oh, and Gears of War 2 two places ahead of LBP? Epic Fail for Sony. [Clearly joking, there...] |

Fallout 3 is a good choice but GTA4 has no place in top 3 at all!MGS4 behind GoW2?Ridiculous!This nonsense doesn't look like readers top 50!
I hope that the editor's top 50 will be better,although i can bet that the 10/10 (over)rated games will occupy the top positions,so probably another GTA4 top 3 finish. |

Fallout 3 is definitely one of the games of the year IMO, with MGS4 being the best ps3 game (and the best MGS game). That said i spend far more time on rockband than any other game. I wonder if instead of seperate votes for rockband 1 and 2, it should have been amalgamated since its essentially the same game (expansion pack if you will), this would have placed the game much higher i reckon.

Its been quite a year - shame Saints Row 2 didn't get the higher place that it clearly deserved but still, so many top games that its tough to choose between them

Good list. I dont like Fallout but thats just my personal kind of taste ( didnt like Oblivion ). Gears 2, L4D and Dead Space are among the top ten titles so im satisfied.

I can't help but laugh at MGS on that 4th spot (or even in a top 50 at all), we gamers still have a long way to go. Everything else that I enjoyed in 2008 seems to be there except Moria, Castle Crashers and Bangai-O!!! :(
Left 4 Dead should have been top dog. Co-op genre re-invented.

Disappointed to see that Final Fantasy - Crisis Core didnt make the Top 50 as it was one of my favourites for the year.
Even more disappointed that none of my comments were included on my other top 4 games. Damn you, Eurogamer, damn you! |
