Killzone 2 review on Thursday

Guerrilla's PS3 shooter finally rated.

Killzone 2 has been the subject of intense hype, speculation and discussion ever since it was shown off - or rather, ever since Sony tried to give us an impression of how it would look - at E3 2005.

In the intervening period we've had teasers, trailers, hands-off and finally hands-on previews and a closed multiplayer beta - a rare thing in these days of betas-as-demos marketing - but the ultimate question still lingers: is it any good?

Well, tomorrow you'll be able to find out, as Eurogamer's review of Killzone 2 will finally go live at 5pm GMT on Thursday, 29th January.

We've been playing the game for some time now, both online and off, and we're looking forward to sharing our thoughts. In the meantime, be sure to stop by our Killzone 2 gamepage to gauge our most recent impressions and catch up on things like video of the multiplayer and the latest news and screenshots.

Killzone 2 is due out for PlayStation 3 on 27th February.

Eurogamer will give it 9/10 and it'll get 8/10 average on Metacritic.
  • ps3owner #6 3 years ago

Metacritic has already some scroes in.

I may correct my earlier statement, maybe 8/10 then... if the official UK PS mag gives it 9
  • Dizzy #7 3 years ago

    I think it will get a 9.

Anything lower and the NeoGAF animated gif strike team will take over EG.

    @insinceredave

wrong way round... eg 8 metacritc average 9!

It's an 8 or 9 game heck even the official magazine couldn't give it a 10. At it's heart it's a FPS and there really have been way too many of those lately. No matter how fanboyish a person is, there comes a time where you have to yell "Enough already make some different genre games and give the FPS's a rest"

Isnt this abit early for a review? Its not out for another month!!! Dont reviews usually come out the week of release?

This better be good, as I just bought a PS3 for this*.

Who will call KZ2 a failure is it gets an 8? I seem to remember that CoD4 was GOTY on the 360 which also got an 8...

Having been in 2 beta phases for KZ2, I can say it (KZ2) entertained me more than CoD4 has been able to in terms of multiplayer. The CoD4 single player was short (but good for the 4 or 5 hours it lasted) so hopefully, this will be a bit longer and epic.
  • schnide #18 3 years ago

I'm going for 9.. £9.99 that is, three months after release! Ho ho ho!

Only joking. I reckon it'll be a 9. It won't do anything thoroughly original but it will be a solid, tight experience (quiet at the back!) and good at what it does.

The interesting thing is that the reviews are all so early, which means that there must be a base level of quality to the game.. just like I always thought there would be. Killzone 2 has far too much pressure on it's shoulders for a variety of reasons.

I have to say though, I still really liked the first one, and if I hadn't got bored of waiting for the PS3 to get it's act together and bought a 360 instead, I'd be buying this and Sony's black behemoth along with it.
  • Garulon #19 3 years ago

"Who will call KZ2 a failure is it gets an 8? "

    Damage Limitation Spin ENABLED!

I think it looks quite pretty, it's going to be godawful to play with that bobbins PS3 controller though.

tomorrow this will be the single most biggest collection of xbots on a website at any given time on any given hour ever quite a record. because no matter how high this scores (i rekon 9/10) this comment section will be full of them flaming as normal .

and i am willing to put money on this !!!

  • larry007 #22 3 years ago

    Hey XBOTS

KZ2 got perfect scores from 3 sources already

    GAMEPRO - 5/5

    OPM US -5/5

    OPM AU - 10/10

    MEGAMERS - 9.9/10

No one is looking forward to Eurogamer review since eugamer gave Fable 2---a mediocre game 10/10

Eurogamer is also not a major gaming website in the world

Everyone is looking forward to IGN review and i am sure KZ2 has a chance to get 10/10 there

BTW this is Microsoft GAMER aka EUROGAMER

    so i predict a 9/10
  • Rash' #23 3 years ago

schnide, the only pressure KZ2 had was on delivering technically after that infamous demo. Few are complaining about the end results and the beta has had glowing responses so the pressure is most definitely not on.
  • TONYgr #24 3 years ago

i really hope it will be reviewed by Tom Bramwell or Kristan Reed or Rob Fahey and NOT by Dan Whitehead.i dont think he is a good reviewer for first person shooters.thats ONLY my opinion guys.anyway lets wait and see the verdict.
  • muscleblade #25 3 years ago

"The CoD4 single player was short (but good for the 4 or 5 hours it lasted) "

It took me 15 hours to beat it on Veteran difficulty. If you want a long lasting game play it on the higher difficulty.
COD4 singleplayer was good but not as good as Halo 3 imo.
  • Olemak #26 3 years ago

    Five PM?

    That's in the afternoon, right?
  • larry007 #27 3 years ago

    also EUROGAMER gave MGS4 a 8/10 and Fable 2 -- a mediocre game which got 8.8 at IGN ---10/10

so wont be surprised if this MICROSOFT DEFENSE FORCE aka EUROGAMER give KZ2 anything less than a 9 or a 10
  • schnide #28 3 years ago

    @Rash'

    That's bullshit - PS3 needs a killer app for PS3 and it's needed one for a while.

Unless LBP got a PS3 in every home and we're all keeping it a giggly little secret, or GT5 has been brought forward to come out this side of the year 3000.

Sony will be very much hoping that game is Killzone 2.

  • larry007 #30 3 years ago

COD4 SP was just 4 hours in length

    Typical XTROLLS defending its length??????

    anyway BOTS

KZ2 has got 3 perfect scores already and 1 almost perfect score

    OPM US - 5/5

    OPM AU - 10/10

    GAMEPRO - 5/5

    MEGAMERS - 9.9/10

  • Rash' #37 3 years ago

schnide, the concept of killer app is from the old school days of Marios, Sonics and Laras where the sales fate of a console was defined by the mainstream success of one franchise. But since Lara there have been Wipeouts, Tekkens, God of Wars, Singstars etc. The point is no one game is going to define the sales success of a console. It's an outdated notion that won't pay dividends in the end for Microsoft who continue to believe investing in Halo will bring them sales growth.

It is the combination of a variety of franchises that appeal to a diverse demographic that will build sales. Price competition hasn't help Sony, but as the exclusives grow so to will the interest in the hardware.

  • schnide #41 3 years ago

"the concept of killer app is ... where the sales fate of a console was defined by the mainstream success of one franchise."

I disagree, and I also disagree it's outdated. A killer app is a title that undeniably causes a big shift in sales. Much as it pains me to say it, Peter Molyneux was right in that the PS3 doesn't have a title that defines it's place in the market. Right now, Sony is living off the Playstation brand which it's almost done it's best to kill through numerous mistakes and the fact that it plays Blu-Rays.

As long as exclusives exist, and they still do, then killer apps can too.

If you hear down the pub what a great game Killzone 2 is, and your mates go out and buy a PS3 because of it, and that happens enough all over the country.. then it's still possible, reduced as it may be from previous generations.
  • tomnol #42 3 years ago

PS3 needs a killer app for PS3 and it's needed one for a while.

Who gives a shit what Sony needs. All that matters is that I need this game. I predict a controversial 7/10, and the imminent implosion of the internetz.
  • larry007 #43 3 years ago

stupid BOTS and their fanboy dreams

KZ2 will get perfect scores from atleast 20 websites

It will get near perfect scores from atleast 30 websites

    Eurogamer----------------whats that

It is not even listed in the top 25 websites

    BOTS have some fun

    X360 death days away

    @TOM

    i agree

Eurogamer gave Halo 3 10/10 . Fable 2 (an 89% rating at meta) 10/10 ......... The small gaming website EUROGAMER can give the game a low score to boost traffic TEMPORARILY. But who cares when IGN's review will be posted tomorrow

    On the other hand

    Resistance 1 got 7/10 from MS-EUROGAMER

    MS2 - 7/10

    LBP 9/10

The website should be renamed as MICROSOFT -EUROGAMER

LOL during recesssions so many weird things spring up

for the first time EDGE/EUROGAMER/GAMEDAILY/GAMESRADAR -----British sources are bootlicking American corporates and are even doring the awful thing of viral marketing (viral reviewing in this case) on their behalf

    What a shame!!!!!!!!!!

so that should give u an idea

we are talking severe SONY haters here ---EDGE/EUROGAMER/GAMEDAILY/GAMESRADAR/GAMESPOT/1up (amost defunct) , VARIETY (owned by Microsoft) here

    1 down ...6 to go
  • Rash' #48 3 years ago

schnide, We can argue about this till the cows come home, but in the long run your so called pressure won't matter. The game won't dramatically shift hardware sales because the system's price isn't mass market friendly. The system needs a price cut more than a "killer app", because there are plenty of great games on the system to justify investment to the mainstream.
  • chessboxer #49 3 years ago

    BTW KZ2 reviews so far

    OPM US - 5/5

    GAMEPRO - 5/5

    OPM AU - 10/10

    MEGAMERS - 9.9/10

So stupid BOTS ---those of you who are saying that KZ2 hasnt got perfect scores

well it has 5 reviews so far........ 4 are perfect
  • schnide #53 3 years ago

    @rash'

Killzone 2 is under pressure to be a good game. That changes the way it's reviewed, because it's looked at with more scrutiny. If it lives up to the hype and gets great review scores despite that pressure, then people will consider it a 'must have', and might view the price of the PS3 to be good value for money.

Consumers don't see the PS3 to currently be good value for money. That's because most of the big titles are also available on 360, which is much cheaper than a PS3. If you have to pay more for a PS3 but get a game you want and can't have on 360, and a lot of people feel the same, then it will sell a lot of consoles. Hence, a killer app.

I'm happy to make sense of these things for you.

  • larry007 #56 3 years ago

Eurogamer is not listed in the top 25 websites and definitely since it is just another MICROSOFT proxy

Eurogamer gave Fable 2 10/10 -- a game which got 8 from IGN and GAMESPOT --world's no 1 and no 2 website respectively

No one cares about EUROGAMER---AKA SONY HATER to the power 10
  • DFawkes #57 3 years ago

    Banjo Kajooie - 8/10

    Resistance 2 - 6/10
    God of war 2 - 7/10
  • Mr-Bozzey #59 3 years ago

god damn larry im a ps3 only owner and even i want you to shut up !! EG yes are at times very unfair this will get a 9/10 i rekon from the beta i played no doubt it will topple COD4 in terms of multiplayer .

anything above 8.5 i rekon is ace

this game on every site will get a plus 8+ rating and if it dont then i'll be very surpised.
  • HolyJebus #60 3 years ago

  • VandelayIndustries #62 3 years ago

Whatever score this game gets from this site I'm buying it. The positive word coming from previews, reviews and beta testers is enough for me :)

Also I think those preview videos have worked wonders too. Since they went up in early December I've added ten of my XBL friends to my Playstation friend list (none of them expressed interest in owning a PS3 before). I expect many more to fellow soon after through word of mouth.
  • Garulon #63 3 years ago

"Killzone 2 is under pressure to be a good game. That changes the way it's reviewed, because it's looked at with more scrutiny. "

It's being released at the worst time ever though. It's had tons of money spent on it due to that bloody fake video crap back in 2005, it's getting squeaked out in a bad Feburary on a £300 console during a really bad recession. Unless Sony are keeping a price cut under really close wraps, I've got the feeling this is gonna pancake regardless of quality, and I think it might be a deliberate ploy by Sony to swing the axe at Guerilla: "hey guys, didn't recoup your costs, byeeee".

Shouldn't stop PS3 owners going out and enjoying the thing though.

Has to be a 9. No way Sony would say "Hey, sure, go post that" if it was an 8. Anyone impressed by scores for KZ2 that are released now might want to go and check to see if they have a brain.
  • DrDamn #86 3 years ago

    @Farticus
It may just bridge a nice gap between full on action and a more "tactical" shooter. Allowing both types of play and leaving it up to the player to chose which way they want to play it. From footage there are obviously times where it is more action based, you don't have to peer round each corner and plan your route, there are levels which do support a more thoughtful approach though.

One thing they will have to get right is respawns. These ruin a lot of the possible "tactical" elements of CoD SP because there is no point holding back and taking out the key players from distance, when the buggers just respawn because you haven't past the bleedin trigger point yet.

NB: For "Tactical" read "More Considered" if you like ;)
  • tomnol #87 3 years ago

I'm happy to make sense of these things for you.

Thanks, Mr. Greenberg. That review tomorrow, though, is (hopefully) about the game and its merits (or the lack thereof), and whether it holds up as the worthwhile experience it set out to be, and not about how many copies this shifts or what it does to some random brand which I happen to own next to a dozen other random brands in my living room.

larry007 just joined another ignore list, btw.

  • Rash' #88 3 years ago

schnide, I've just come off LBP. By your logic it should have been Sony's killer app for it lived up to the hype and yet it hasn't sold as well as thought... I like how you're trying to make sense of it all for me, but your sense as I said has holes in it.

Awesome news, I predict MGS review thread levels of fun on this one, I finish at 5:30 so I'll get home just as the fun is starting :)

Personally I already know I'll pick it up whatever EG thinks of it (sod all else out at the mo either!), but in terms of FPS I'm FAR more excited about Riddick and Aliens at the end of March (I hope Aliens is still out then play.com says it is but I've heard nothing on it....)
  • IneptPercy #93 3 years ago

I do agree the killer app idea is outdated, even with a 10/10 I am not going to spend £289.99 to play it.

I need multi killer apps and a lower price, or graphics better than my PC... they best get moving on the price then.
  • tiddles #94 3 years ago

Is it really the tactical shooter it's being billed as?

    Farticus - Killzone 2 isn't a tactical shooter.

  • FaceOmeter #96 3 years ago

    larry007 - comedy genius.

I know urging you all not to be dicks over this is not in keeping with the spirit of things, but before the slaughter commences (thanks for the warning btw EG), I'd like to take this opportunity to remind everybody:

    1) that anything above and including 7 denotes a GOOD game, and that
    2) none of you have played it yet.

Good luck and may the best console (original game boy) win!

    this and little big planet

the only 2 titles really worth getting... ok metal gear might be a 3rd...

man o man when I think back of how much i loved the ps2 and what a sony fan boy I used to be...

now I have to say I am totally happy with my 360... times change...

My prediction just for a laugh (out of ten)

Graphics - 10 (The best looking FPS on a console yet)

Gameplay - 7 (same old Killzone gameplay unfortunately and no big advancements)

Story - 6 (Not that great and the characters are kinda generic)

    Multiplayer - 8 (Just a guess)

Longevity - 8 (Not as good as COD but better than RFOM)

Having played both Killzone 1 and Liberation on the PSP I'm interested in seeing the next development of this franchise.
  • Buran #108 3 years ago

Pros: best, unmatched, technical department aside from Crysis and S.T.A.L.K.E.R., cinemetographic atmosphere in the campaign, better multiplayer than COD 4.

Cons: can't support keyboard and mouse like UT III in PS3.

Conclusions: must have if you have a PS3 and think that to play shooters with pad is good, but UT III still wins to me. This takes not into consideration Jook: Jook can play in a pad as well as with a k&m -also, He is not human-.

    Score: who cares? I don't.
  • zedzee #109 3 years ago

I'd have to agree with "larry007" in that EDGE MAGAZINE have been long time haters of Sony, ever since the original PlayStation.

They have consistently given PlayStation (all generations) games lower marks than the crappiest Nintendo titles, and I mean from the N64 days...N64! I think they single-handedly were the original mag to elevate Golden Eye to the level of 'best FPS of all time', because I remember they went on and on and on about it.

The only PlayStation game that ever got a decent score was the first Gran Turismo, 10/10, which was classed as "the PlayStation killer app has arrived" or words to that effect.

As a matter of fact, I stopped subscribing to EDGE because of the their bias towards Nintendo, which is still evident to this day.
  • menage #110 3 years ago

    @zedzee

Pffff. It's what you want to read then. Last time I checked LBP got a 10 and the PS3 featured 3/4 times on last years covers. Don't be an idiot. Edge isn't biased, just elitist.
  • mkreku #111 3 years ago

I've always felt this looks great (almost like Crysis) but looks like it plays less than perfect (like Crysis). So I'm betting it gets the same score as Crysis got. Whatever Crysis got on this site?

  • Les #114 3 years ago

Why review is so soon? It's not due for another month.

Hope Sony isn't using all that extra time to print massive numbers of games. If they expect this to sell in Gears of Wars numbers they really don't know their customer base...

I'm not sure whether it is so smart to not have a review embargo TBH. Not letting reviewers release their score till (or after) the day of release is not a good sign of course but having reviews come out a month before release isn't smart from a momentum building perspective IMO.
  • Beano #131 3 years ago

For consumers it can only be a good thing that reviews are released early so they can determine if it's a good game or not.

And embargos ending on the same day as a game is released, can be used to block bad reviews from hurting early sales.

"Looking forward to sharing our thoughts" - That's a 7/10 right there. Nothing like a 7 to drive page views and comments. Or a 10 for a Wii/360 game.

"For consumers it can only be a good thing that reviews are released early so they can determine if it's a good game or not."

True but from a hype perspective it's stupid. And besides, I think a significant part of the audience that Sony wants to reach with the title will not read reviews anyway (other than the ones printed or stickered on the box).

Les, depends what you think that audience is. I reckon it's the hardcore shooter fans, for whom an early review is ideal. Marketing will contend with selling the game to the more casual gamer. Having said, Sony's marketing hasn't been great of late so there could be a concern.

This game will not get a 10 because giving it something less will drive the post count through the roof, especially after the amount of coverage KZ2 has been given in the last few months. PS3 fans will be outraged and 360 fans will gloat.
  • Edz72 #143 3 years ago

TBH before playing KZ2 I thought it would bomb, more to do with the length of development and the fact that it's just another FPS. After playing it last year in London I was truly impressed and regardless of it's score all I hope is that the tech is used in other games moving forward because IMO Killzone 2 is the first true next gen game and it's what we should have got from both Sony & MS from day one rather than PS2/Xbox games with a new coat of paint.

To be honest, with the rabid nature of the EG comment crowd, they could have every staff member write an individual review and offer their own review score - and it would still be hammered by everyone here (99% of whom haven't played it)

In an ideal world they would blow everyones mind and just post a comprehensive review with no score at the end, that would be fascinating (and force people to read instead of clicking through to page 4 and scrolling down)
  • Mister_G #150 3 years ago

    From EG hands-on article ...

"It's brutal, sometimes fussily so, and many will find its unforgiving nature a turn-off. Plenty more, however, should relish a high-profile game with a truly hardcore style, especially with production values as polished as this."

So the score it gets depends if EG are hard core FPS fans or not I guess :)

I predict 8 from EG, but hope I'm wrong and it gets a 9.
  • #151 3 years ago

Seriously does it really matter what EG score it? Its going to sell fucking loads no matter what, if Amazons pre-order list is accurate.
  • uglygamer #152 3 years ago

It most certainly will get 9/10
  • secombe #153 3 years ago

I predict 8 from EG, but hope I'm wrong and it gets a 9.

Why does that matter though? I bought Endless Ocean (which scored a 6!) and it was easily one of the most unique and enjoyable gaming experiences I've enjoyed for a long long time. Did the EG score make any difference to my enjoyment of it? Of course it didn't.

I can't see why anyone would 'hope' for one score or another, chances are there will be enough in the review text to help you decide if you want it anyhow, in which case anything over a 5 if probably going to suffice.
  • Edz72 #154 3 years ago

"There is so much wrong with that statement. So much".

Like? or am I supposed to guess?

  • 3william56 #155 3 years ago

Dear god. 170 comments just on the announcement of when the review hits? Tomorrow's going to be a record breaker like Roy Castle with 170 trumpets up his ar$e.

I don't think (for once) EG have to worry about the hit count as a reason to sway the review. Apart from the exclusive which will have half the gaming world coming to see, a low score means millions of Xbots baiting Sonnys who scream M$ bribery, a high score the opposite. Either way, EG's servers (and the Ignore Poster button) are in for one heck of a workout.

Sod the score - I just want the game to be good.

"Finally a game that shows why Sony went with the cell and Blu-ray. 2009 and onwards there is only one console that will keep upping the bar graphically. PS3. "

That one did amuse me slighly, 2009 onwards, so if they start now the next game that has had this much effort put in will be 2013...

The only reason the PS2 got pushed so hard is becuase it was in the interest of the companys making them to be the lead on the lead platform.

The PS3 isn't the lead platform.
  • ccfb #160 3 years ago

If sony are letting this out then it must be a good wrietup, maybe even a good game to go with it.
  • CHAZBIGPOTATO #161 3 years ago

I only own an xbox 360 but predict this to get a 10, at least a 9. I can't understand larry going on about this site as though it loves microsoft and hates sony, I remember a while ago it was considered the opposite in favour of Sony (I'm talking about fanboy consensus, not my own opinion).

Where has Larry gone, by the way?
  • Widge #162 3 years ago

I'd be surprised at a 10. I think you have to offer something different like Bioshock to hit that nowadays.

Well the fidelity of the graphics and sound are certainly a cut above other console titles right now. Could be the new Gears of War in that regard.

I'm not sure I care much about the score because I'm buying the game regardless. I just hope EG don't opt to overrate/underrate in the hope of having five minutes of f(l)ame and also I hope they don't write one of those ridiculous arty-pretentious reviews they're known for.

Pretty much 40% of the entire gaming population are waiting on Eurogamer. I hope you come out of it with your credibility in tact EG.

Enjoy the 1,000,000 uniques (more perhaps?) hit counter tonight EG.
  • menage #166 3 years ago

    @Nick

So better graphics = 10/10 if I follow that statement.

I do freaking hope the game has something more to add than that with such a score. Cause those graphics will be old next year.

  • DrDamn #167 3 years ago

I'd be surprised at a 10 too - for the same reasons as Widge pointed out. Seems to be a solid, great looking title but not enough new to the genre to warrant a 10. Which sounds fine to me.

  • Triggerhappytel #168 3 years ago

I really enjoyed what I played at E2 last year and I have pre-ordered it, and to be honest I'll be happy with a 7/10 or higher. It does look immensely solid if a little unremarkable, which may mark it down slightly.

Anyway, EG gave Dead Space 7/10 which I thoroughly enjoyed - in fact, it was my second favourite game of last year.
  • smernicki #169 3 years ago

can you run over a lion and break its leg off?
  • milky_09 #170 3 years ago

gears of war 2 got 9/10. i didnt see it as a huge technical leap over 1 in terms of gameplay/graphics/sound/multiplayer etc....

killzone2 on the other hand is a huge leap over killzone1. and then betters gears2.

at minimum it gets a 9.

    The perfect ten?
A score of ten reflects a game that, within the reviewer's estimation, is something you must buy: this is the message we're trying to convey. On a basic level it's almost certainly the best quality game ever seen within the context of its genre, and that's why Eurogamer doesn't dish them out very often. A score of 10 usually applies to less than a trio of games in any given year.

  • Azzwanker #171 3 years ago

If they gave Gears of War 2 a 9/10 ... It would be biasd to give KZ2 a lower score. Consindering that KZ2 looks better, has a bigger MP and so on.

    Let us wait and see
  • Thunderbolt #172 3 years ago

Can I just put a caveat in there.

'killzone2 on the other hand is a huge GRAPHICAL leap over killzone1.'

What else has changed in the game apart from a next-gen paint-job?
  • warbo #173 3 years ago

I doubt anyone at EG would have the balls to give this one anything less than a 10, even if it didn't quite live up to expectations.

I’ve actually been a little disappointed with gameplay footage of KZ2 because of the ridiculous hype. I think much of it is down to system wars or some kind of mass hypnosis. Despite all of that, I’m still looking forward to trying the game for myself.
  • MilkYMoO #174 3 years ago

Eurogamer gave resistance 2 a 9/10 and that game was a letdown, especially the singleplayer. I hope killzone 2 is a brilliant game and have my fingers crossed, but I'll have to see what score Edge magazine, the highly reliable Gamecentral, aswell as eurogamer give it before deciding to get it.
  • Widge #175 3 years ago

and thats the crux of it. It could get a 10 but if you don't like it then thats no use whatsoever.

  • GamesConnoisseur #181 3 years ago

After actually reading the OPM(UK) review,re the Killzone 2 game with which much of the Sony fanboys have declared as their great hope of 2009!! I m actuallly thinking it would be better if the game doesnt get a 10/10 UNLESS actually really, really merited a 10 in the reviewer's honest point of view.

From what I understand the game is indeed very beautiful and the best looking of all consoles BUT not without flaws ie according to OPM.

    a) First few levels are not challenging (sarky comment about Heleghast being told to go easy on you!)
    b) Some things feel a bit off; only one man in whole army who is trained to hack door lock
    c) Brief screen-freezing loading pause mid game
    d) Horrible difficulty spike at the end

However EG accorded the arbitary and subjective score, which most of us guess to be likely between 8-10, still nothing would stop me from getting the game as I consider myself an incomplete gamer until I have played the game!

I don't see why a single title always provokes such a hostile reaction. If any gamer wants to hype up their own titles to make themselves feel good then let them

One review for you already. In general yay, with some mehs in the direction of voice acting, no co-op (as we knew, although this is rumoured to be getting patched in), no cover in MP (as we knew already), some loading stutter (whether this is remedied before release or patched, I don't know, the review copies are a month old) and less players online than Resistance 2 (which you can take from that what you want).
