Euro PS Video Store date still TBC News

Sony has told Eurogamer that it can't confirm when this month that the European PS3 video store will actually launch.

Earlier the publisher caused a little confusion when it sent out invites for a launch party on 18th November. Presumably it will be around then, but that's not the actual date, we were told.

The PS3 video store is penned for a late November launch.

We're expecting to go hands-on with the service very soon, so look out for our impressions.

It all depends on cost really, I find the Xbox service just a bit too expensive, at least I think it's expensive I can't figure how much 540 Microsoft Kerjiggers are in real money.

I'm still more concerned with the state of the PSN Game store. It's still lacking a respectable range of PSP and PS1 games that are readily available on UMD and on the US PSN, which makes it quite useless if you found yourself with a PSP Go like I did.

Same here, I tend to use the US store for the PSP because NTSC PSone games run better!

I'm looking forward to this as I have just upgraded to a 500GB HDD in anticipation for this...well this and singstar songs. Again price will be vital and I'm not bothered about them not being HD or blu-ray.

Yeah, I've considered that. Switching between accounts on a PSP isn't really the easiest of things to do on the move, so I'd really rather stick to the one of them. Potentially if people buy what little offerings they have on the Euro side they might start to reconsider, so I've also been trying not to spend all my money on the US store. I realise that this is a rather hopeless endeavour, but it does save me a whole load of money as I can't spend it on downloads.

Yeah they said on the EUro blog there was gonna be a store update today, but nothing yet. Presumably its going to be MW2 related, unless its just a coincidence on launch day.

Stop calling it the European video store when it's only actually a few countries that are getting it.
Somewhere between 2012 and 2015 seems like a realistic guess to me for the rest of us, given how long it's taken with video from services like iTunes (actually we're still waiting for that in most of Europe as well. It happened in 2005 in the US and last year in the UK and a couple of other EU countries, didn't it?). Although I certainly hope I'm wrong.
