What a strange interview.

I'm surprised EG got away without a punch in the chops :)

Yeah, that was an odd interview indeed, then again, why take an interview if you aren't going to say anything new?

It wouldn't seem an odd interview if you'd met Mark Rein before... I'm sure that guy is permanently wired

UT3 LOL

Yeah, I'm absolutely sure he just loves those awesome sales figures.

Why didn't you corner him on that, EG? They MUST be losing money on UT3.

I like the tongue in cheek things going on there. Funny interview to read. It doesn't tell us much new, no, but it's good entertainment.

It was a crap interview. Not due to eurogamer, but rather due to the man that wasn't going to say anything from the start anyway.

Out of interest - what are the sales figures for UT3 on PS3, and also on PC?
I'd love to know. cheers!

Very nice interview, really felt like you guys were walking the line. Perhaps even crossing the line a small bit.

But hey I love it when an interviewer actually tries to get something out of them, instead of leaving it at that the moment they say "I'm not going to say anything about that". Its a journalist job, to try and get something out of em

"so that's one of the improvements we want to do - to bring a mod browser right into the game. We have a whole bunch of ideas. We're working on an update for the game right now. We shipped a really good game and we're going to make it better."

That sounds good.

unreal tournament's actual sales figures are probably slightly less...

if i want to make a mod for the ps3 version, i have to buy the pc version so i can get the editor. but then i can't play the pc version cos my laptop isn't good enough.

so that means i need to pay £80 just to make mods and play them!

Yes as commented earlier, patch UT3 PS3 please, you prick. Apparently. Oh that's gonna get me far isn't it! Oh well, mod browser or not, I just want some more Midway dedicated servers, maybe you could ask Mr Rein that one next time Tom? And what about UT4?! Is that even on the cards anymore? Is the franchise down the drain?

I can't remember where I read it - it might have been on this site - but UTIII has sold 1.2 million which presumably includes both the PS3 and PC versions.

How many people are still playing UT'99? Played it a bit last month and there still seemed to be gazillions of servers.

I like and agree with his comments about accomadating the low end PC hardware gamer.

Seems a bit ridiculous for him to then say at the end that the Wii isn't hardware-wise suited for their games, but it is Mark Rein...

How refreshing from the usual powder-puff gumf. Very good Tom.

I want more hard questions put to Sony, Nintendo, MS etc.

"Why is there still a lack of exclusive AAA titles for PS3?"

"Are the failure rates of 360 hardware now comparable to the industry average?"

"Why does it take Nintendo 2 - 6 times longer to Euro-translate games over competitors"

you guys could feel it too? the thing in the room everyone was trying to ignore? the 1000 pound gorila in the corner with a UT3 bombed T shirt on! :) i think most interviews with epic now have pre interview clauses about aproved questions. "no we wont talk about how piss UT3 was, no, nor how much the sales of it bombed - not by nod wink or obscure reference you got it?"

poor bastard, they have to give interviews for gow2 but these same interviews come after one of the worst comcercial failures of recent memory - not since the halicon days of die kintana has a game been so anticipated for so long to go down the tubes so fast! it makes for some dicey moments for both interviewer and interviewee.

hehe classic - i could feel the love.

"the PlayStation 3 version's done really well"

250,000 sales is doing really well? Slightly different from 4,000,000 sales for gears the year before
