Good stuff. Got UTIII on the PS3, and I can't wait for this. Split-screen play, all those extra maps and game-modes and all for FREE! Why can't more devs be like this?

I've got the US version of UTIII but haven't played for a while. Does it now support EU servers as well and vice versa?

They really should patch in trophies, that would hook a load of people back into the game.

@Kill_Crazy: I'm pretty sure it's supported worldwide servers for a while (I assume you're talking about the PS3 version?).
@Widge: According to the preview on IGN, there will be PS3-specific Trophies.

Split screen is of no use for me but I know many people were bummed that the PS3 didn't have it. Nice to have more game types and maps so this will be getting played on the PS3 a lot until I get a Core i7 975.

Trophies? Cool.

An update after all this time, it's nice to see that Epic are still supporting this game but are there that many people playing this online anymore?

It'll be a nice counterpoint for KZ2, instead of tactically making my way round a battlefield I can just run about with my finger jammed down on R1.

I forgot what games were like before a reload mechanic was in place!

Being able to check mods with a browser sounds like a good idea though, its been screaming for some sort of in game capability to download mods.

UT3 is screaming with potential to be an awesome community shooter. Considering it appeared first on the PS3 when there was quite an absence of FPS and was rather well received (9 on here), I find it mental that more people didn't pick it up and get into it.

Tell you what, if they offered this as a PSN download, that would probably tip the balance screamingly in its favour. UT3 is a kind of game that would thrive on being sat on a hard drive, just waiting to be played on a whim.

That's... Really annoying. I basically only ever play this on 360 because of splitscreen, and I actually can't play my PC version because of some shitty DRM problem(It asks for my serial number at random when i open it, and my serial number is back home, i.e, not here.)

Nice. If Epic is still spending money on Unreal devlopment does this mean another game will follow or is this UT IV (UT 2009?) in a way I wonder?

Epic have always supported previous UT games with map packs, expansions and patches. UT2004 had 7 official patches, UT2003 had a few and I only started playing UT99 when v4.36 was introduced.

I doubt we will see UT4 for at least 2 years now. The next UT will probably be out in 2011 although I would really like them to focus on an Unreal 3 game, providing they have a decent story for it.
