EndWar and Mirror's Edge on PSN

Demos of those, and add-ons for others.

Sony has updated the PlayStation internet shops with games and demos and that.

There are Mirror's Edge, Tom Clancy's EndWar and WarHawk demos on the PS3 Store and the full games are Def Jam Fight for NY: The Takeover on PSP and Cool Boarders 2 from the PSone archive for both formats.

As ever, those lists are dwarfed by oddly-titled downloadable content, and most of it's music this week. Not just Rock Band, which gets three songs from Siouxsie and the Banshees, two from Silversun Pickups and one each from Blink-182 and The Psychedelic Furs, but a host of downloadable songs for Soulcalibur IV. We have no idea why you'd buy those, but fill yer boots.

Otherwise your options are some more add-ons for Civilization Revolution or weapon sets for Soulcalibur IV. There are also some Mega Man 9 themes and some trailers that didn't seem worth listing in our fancy list below.

Will keep it short and sweet.

I really liked Mirror's Edge. Dosen't hurt am, while it's pretty old news now, a fan of Parkour which this game is basically all about.

Mileage will definitely vary. Game could be a huge snorefest for others.

    man come on 5:30!!!!

The girlfriend is out of town, and I've had a crap week at work (tuesday at EG was good though!) so a night in gaming for me.

Mirrors edge demo, last 2 episodes of Siren, SH: H & Dead Space. The perfect Holloween night in alone - Oh and a modest amount of leftover Tequilla nicked from my girlfriend - nice

Really enjoyed the Mirror's Edge demo. Beautiful visual style and the gameplay was smooth, responsive and intuitive. Shooting controls were a little fiddly, but since it's really not a shooter, that doesn't matter too much.
Some screen tearing when panning quickly, but I hope this is cos it's a demo and won't be in the final version. Definite buy for me.

The US store has a demo of Alone in the Dark. That'll be interesting to try when I get home. :p

It seems to be adaptive v-sync. When I'm looking around at buildings and pannign quickly and jumping over rooftops etc I don't see any tearing. It's when there are alot fo buildings and things going on that it tears ever so slightly probably to avoid frame drops. But this is probably only in the demo since it's probably an old build.

Love Mirror's Edge. I've been excited about this game since I first heard about it and it doesn't disappoint.

I have played the Mirror's Edge demo over and over and over. Took a few tries for it to click but as soon as it does it becomes something very special indeed.

    @charliemouse

Thought I was the only one. Must have played that level 6 times last night.

Loving the bright visuals too. Makes a change to have a next gen game not presented in dour shades of brown.

Jesus titty bastard Christ, who the fuck would buy the Soulcalibur IV soundtrack for twelve fucking quid?! Gee, no thanks, I think I'll buy Wipeout HD for exactly the same fucking price!!
  • dazrichards #9 3 years ago

I finally sold Civ Rev last week because the promised DLC has turned out to be small but expensive rubbish
  • Zebula77 #10 3 years ago

Spyro Viper: Thanks, I'm sure you're right. Technobabble-stuff just confuses me, hehe.
I'm sure it'll be fixed for the proper game.

The Mirror's Edge demo was fucking sweet. Definitely the best thing in yesterday's update. I wasn't going to buy it but now there will be a slightly bigger hole in my wallet. Dice have done very well with this one. I wonder what DLC Dice will be adding...

Mirror's Edge...a must buy for me
  • Darren #13 3 years ago

Mirror's Edge... a will not be buying now for me! :(
  • Beano #14 3 years ago

The demo was nice but waaaaay to short to get a feeling for it. Waiting for the reviews before deciding.
  • stmarcus #15 3 years ago

    The Dutch store:

    - does NOT include EndWar demo.
    - does include 4 PS1 games (C&C, RA, Theme Hospital) - 5 euros each
  • peterfll #16 3 years ago

I thought the ME demo was a little short, and I got really confused about what I was supposed to do at the end of the level. I just couldn't see that the helicoptors landing feet were in RED. Oh, and I found the jumping a little sticky - it took quite a while to do that jump up from wall to wall then on to the air con. Like some of the others, I think I'll wait for the reviews.

I DO think the art direction and graphic style is ace though.

I like these demos, but selling all this extra crap really pisses me of especially for SC4.
I am much less likely to buy the next version if I think that I am only buying half a game?
    Assholes.

Mirror's edge seems to be a lot of fun. Hand to hand combat could be better implemented though.
  • makeamazing #19 3 years ago

ME seemed ok, first demo in a while that ive left on the PS3 after I've played it, will give it another go tonight. It was different, found the keys alittle iffy. Too many things introduced in quick time, so takes a while to get used to. Not sure if i will get it yet, will play the demo again tonight.

the jaggies on that Mirror's Edge PS3 demo would take your eye out!
  • deathdealer619 #21 3 years ago

V cool concept suprised that EA look to have injected the current games market with something fresh.
Dice were always a great studio, It looks good plays well tearing issues are nothing to worry about in a demo, I just hope the full game is longer than eight hours or so that games that look this good usualy tend to be this generation.

To Eurogamer: it's Warhawk, not WarHawk...

Nice update. I tested Mirror's Edge, it rocks.
  • SEVQA #23 3 years ago

    I did'nt like it!

    But I love Marmite!
  • kangarootoo #24 3 years ago

Really liked the Mirror's Edge demo gameplay, hated the structure of the demo.

A bit twitchy in enclosed spaces, but hoofing about on rooftops feels like an experience that can only get sharper with more practice.

Having to sit through story and tutorial content everytime I wanted to play the demo was a pain in the ass. And the time trial (the b it the demo should have been) was bloody locked to all except those who have pre-ordered!!

Grrrr. Its a demo EA. That means it is your advert to me. It is not supposed to annoy me due to your apparent reticence to give me too much free stuff. More carrot, less stick, idiots.
