Were you guys using a review copy or something for the comparison, or is it something wrong with the European/Japanese release that's fine in the US version?
Also, to really add to the mystery, IGN have a really oddball collection of Enchanted Arms screenshots, with some that were from last year's 360 version being passed off as the PS3 version. They also have PS3 screenshots that have terrible upscaling and the grain filter. But most curious is this shot:

Which, despite being labelled as a PS3 shot has identical texture and geometry details to the 360 version (most notably the clipping issue on Atsuma's sleeve)... Yet this has a grain filter on it, and none of the 360 shots seem to have that. Is this something you can toggle off and on for both versions?

If yer spending THAT much time looking for minor graphical changes while playing a game. Then it's obvious that said game is probably a crock of shite.. Otherwise you'd be having more fun playing than as to notice.
