Eidos reveals new Lara Croft model News

Eidos has hired Alison Carroll, 23, from Croydon, as the next in a long line of Lara Croft models.

The former golf club receptionist ticks all the right boxes as a trained gymnast, and hopes her new role will help her get a few more dates.

"I felt so good pulling on the costume for the first time. So confident and in control. I really felt like an action heroine," Carroll told The Sun.

"[Lara Croft] has everything a man would want from a woman and everything a woman would aspire to be like."

Bizarrely, Carroll has to undergo archaeology and weapons training before meeting and greeting the hordes of Lara Croft fans.

That hasn't stopped her posing for a few pictures, which you can find in our new Lara Croft model gallery. We're not ashamed.

Carroll will no doubt help create buzz around upcoming game Tomb Raider: Underworld, in exactly the same way previous model Karima Adebe did before Tomb Raider: Legend two years ago.

Tomb Raider: Underworld is due out for PC, Xbox 360, PS3, PS2, Wii and DS on 21st November.

I don't like her. Definetly not my type - and might I add that she doesn't really fit as a Lara model either. Then again looking at the old models the only prerequisites seem to be two breasts.

She's definitely sexy, but doesn't fit the Lara Croft aesthetic.
That said, Der_rolle_Emil is right: all the Lara Croft 'aesthetic' really boils down to is a pair of gigantic breasts.

Octopus: yes we are. Well, I am, so I assume most other people share this rather charming trait.

I much preferred Karima :(

But, I do agree with Octo. As long as this sort of shit continues, 'proper' gamers will always be branded as bedroom-dwelling, change-fumbling spotty boys.

I have to agree with 5haun, although she is very attractive, she doesn't have the stunning looks of the previous model. She just looks like your typical fit bird out on the piss on a saturday night. I still definately would though!

Saw her on the BBC news talking about the new role. She was flipping out and doing kicks and stuff, she's an athlete.

And well fit. And single. And lives in Croydon, which is only down the road.

Is it ironic that the geeks who put Lara at the top would stand little chance with Lara herself? lol

Pretty anonymous looking model. Too young, bland looking. She's got the figure for it obviously, but I think the previous one was a better match. At least she had some character to her face.

Personally I don't think she suits the role when it comes to age and looks. Karima was the best model so for to me. She had the looks and personality and looked the right age for Lara.

Chunky? Seriously, do none of you watch the news? This was a BBC headline! They showed the promo shoot and everything, she's a gymnist or something. She was leaping all over the place, doing back flips and shit. Kicking invisible dudes. And they spoke to her too, she sounded hot. And had plenty to say about what will ultimately be a pretty thankless role.

As far as I can tell, Rhona Mitra was the only one that left the gig because she got something better; having starred along side Kevin Bacon, Kate Winslet, Kevin Spacey, Jim Carey, Mark Wahlberg, and also has more films on the way.

Not a bad break from a lara croft model.

I think she looks good for the role personally. It's not strictly necessary but it's something Eidos (or whoever) will do for every new game and I think it's ok to have a model for the character.

Fat women are grose, but skinny ones are even groser. I prefer them healthy looking and i think most guys do.
This model (Alison) looks quite good. The last one (Karima) looked even better though.
