joeking. I think most people would rather pay a little bit more and buy a 2nd hand PS2 + TR:A than use a 360, buy TR:L + pay for download contents.

It hasn't been confirmed though... has it? It's still a rumour as far as I can tell because Eidos have declined to comment!

An Xbox 360 (and PS3) version would be very nice, particularly with a next-gen facelift but even so I'm loving every nano-second of the wonderful PC version. The idea of releasing the game as a series of downloadable levels sucks though; surely everyone would rather have the complete game on disc in a case with a manual so they can experience the storyline that ties all the levels together? Or am I just speaking for myself?

The PC version with its non-next-gen graphics uses 4 GB of HDD space so the 360 version would presumably use more which means I wouldn't be able to download it anyway as I only have that much space left on my HDD... need to reserve some space for the odd downloadable demo or two after alll... ;)

the act its a download might mean its simply the PS2 version, with no additional GFX upgrade...that would suck, I really enjoyed the last 360 outing, and would like another proper one, the anniversary edition, on a disc in a box with snazzy prettyness would be that game.

It has been confirmed by Eidos, there's a quote from them floating about where they confirm the download-only thing.

@ Darren: Umm PC version with Non-next gen graphics...What? What are you babbling about? What is it about people declaring the PC dead with the arrival of the 360 and PS3. Do people honestly believe that PC's can't match the graphical output of console games? I'm stunned, really I am. Granted the kind of kit required to recreate XBox 360 and PS3 like visuals is on the expensive side but still PC's are more than a match for any console and indeed will outstrip them over time as a PC's hardware changes every 6 months whilst consoles remain static for 5 years.

Just to make my point clear when considering graphics per platform the better to worse end runs like this:

PC -> PS3 -> XBox 360 -> Wii -= XBox -> Gamecube -> PS2

It will always be like this. It never changes. PC hardware always outstrips consoles very quickly hence the PC port of games are normally the most impressive visually. You just have to pay through the nose to see it which is the PC's major downfall.

^^^ I would argue the incorrect placement of the 360 and PS3 in the above lil diagram, but God damn I just can't be arsed, maybe someone else will though :)

It's the game that doesn't have next-gen graphics, he's not saying the PC couldn't handle them if it did.

As far as I can tell, the PC version of TRA looks pretty similar to the PS2 version with higher textures.

edit: in fact, I wouldn't be surprised if the X360 version had less than stellar graphics too, which could be why they're thinking of releasing it as a download only.

Well that's just great - I was looking forward to this but the only time I would download a (what I assume will not be re-sellable) game is when it's on a must-have par with the likes of Oblivion ...

Personally I think the PC version as it is looks gorgeous even without the next-gen content that Legends had and, of course, as a result it runs far better than Legends did on my setup. That said, I'm not sure Xbox 360 owners would think the same but then maybe that's why it's planned as downloadable content (if true)... maybe...?

By the way, is it me or did they remove the option to buy TR:A from Steam??? I wouldn't be too surprised since I've seen the PC version in stores here for almost 50 euros... while I paid about 18 euros for the steam version... curious...

It's not for me... meh, might be because I already bought it then... nevermind.

If Crystal Dynamics read this. I will not buy the xbox 360 as a download game. I want it on a disc. Don't copy steam. Or is this why TR has been pulled from the Steam servers, don't like the idea of them doing the same.

What wouldn't happen? What's the big deal? You make it sound like MS are using all of our XBLA points to fund genocide, not electronically release a game that half the people on here appear to dislike anyway.

The only bad thing about it being released on XBLA only is that the price will never go down, or it will never be possible to buy it second hand, but if the initial price is right I can't see it being a problem. Surely if it's an XBLA-only release it cannot be the same price as a shop-bought game? Maybe this will allow people to buy a lazy PS2 port for less than the £40 Xbox 360 price tag?

I'm more interested in the Sonic the Hedgehog 2 entry for both Wii and 360!
