The Sims 2 Nightlife Reader Review
Well when you consider the base game does not have any way to go out as a group, as in everyone will do the same thing as the leader its pretty hard not to say that this expansion is not going to make the game better. Along with all the new added items and other things that make you cry with glee when you watch it in action the first time.
Something which can get annoying however is the load times of the game compared to what it was like before the expansion. This could be blamed on poor computer but since its on a 3.4GHZ Pentium 4 Dual Core, with 1 Gig of Ram I can't see how.
Fun Nights Outs
Now when you actually decide you've had enough of using all the new objects etc, and want to go and have a look at the new downtown area you must be wary of the dangerous Mrs. Crumplebottom. As much as making a game a challenge is a good thing, her abusive behaviour would if she was real get her arrested and probably sued, you see if you perform any action thats romantic whatsoever with whomsoever that includes married partners, she wanders over and slaps you with her purse...
Anyway enough of my disgust for that old woman slapping inocent young lovers.
There are plenty of premade places for you to visit, if you don't feel up to the challenge of creating your own restaurent (although it is pretty simple to do) and many other attractions such as bowling alleys and nightclubs. As with the base game and University having Aliens and Zombies, added to the mix in this new version are Vampires. They add a totally new way to play as their needs won't decay overtime during the night, but come morning they better be in their coffins or else they will begin dramatic need dropping, which will obviously result in death.
To Date or Not To Date
The new dating system is the other large new part to the game with a date meter telling you if what actions you are performing with your date is actually working or making them hate you. You can ring up a new NPC called the matchmaker whom you can also buy the cure for Vampirism from, to get you a date. Depending on the "Donation" amount you give to her you can end up with the perfect match or someone your sim will want't to probably end up killing.
Instead of actually going on a date however you can go on a scored outing which is effectivly the same however instead of just you and your lovely date you can bring more friends along with you to have fun with.
- Some awesome new objects like cars
- Great new dating system
- Vampires! (Bleh!)
- Mrs. Crumplebottom
