Solid is back... For good...
Many of us remember the begining of this saga. Solid was our hero and PS1 was his carrier. I know that there was other two or three games before this one, (on MSX2 if not mistaken), but for many of us, this story begun with PS1. Kojima insisted on making a game with lots of story between the actual action but, once again, fine! Fans keep appearing and Solid get stronger.
The game evolved, the story was more and more complexed, and for all of us that loved those midterm videos, codec conversations and nonsense from kojima mind, only asked for more!
But war as changed... Solid is a old sun. We all heard the rumors before this release that this snake was going to stop crawlling through this earth. And so, Metal Gear Solid 4 arrived at our homes.
Next-gen Kojima promised and delivered. Next-gen graphics, next-gen audio, next-gen console. PS3 gave me what never have gave me before. The best game i ever played in this new generation of games. This game is full of action (for you FPS lovers), with outstanding story (don't like it, press start then Skip it) and graphics that simply take my breath away... I really don't know why there aren't more games with this perfection on a console like PS3. Is it lack of dedication from developers? Or is it that Kojima and his staff are genius? Take your pick, i really don't care. Dont be mistaken i have all the consoles from this so called "next-gen". I've played some great games this last 2 years. Bioshock, Mass Effect, Oblivion, even Gears at the time was a revelation. But the magnitude of Metal Gear... I'm sorry... This was to much...
Probably i'm saying all of this because i'm just a Metal Gear fan. Or not... I've played and loved many triology's and sequels from many plataforms through this years, but none as gave so much pleasure of ending like this one.
I gave it a 10 because any game that give us total satisfation for the money we pay for it, is worth that score. Joining the work very well done from Kojima and his staff, the replay value, the time i've spent waiting for the release and realising that i would wait much more for the same results.
I don't care if it's done on a ps3, xbox360 or a wii (not possible with the same graphics, but well...). Just make games with the same dedication like this one and let old suns live in peace.
