S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl Reader Review
This post is for those of you who still have not played this game. I'm noticing that some of you are looking through these posts and getting turned off by a few bug listings.
I have played this game through to the end twice (and needless to say, I couldn't put it down!) and the issues I hear the most -like pausing for a few seconds now and then - didn't take away from my enjoyment of the game one bit. Once I got immersed in the world of Stalker, no other game mattered. Once I finished it, I was disappointed because nothing else felt worth playing. I didn't want Stalker to end. When I bought Stalker, I was fortunate enough to have a bad cold and couldn't leave the house. I remember staying up all night and nearly falling asleep on the keyboard. I've never been able to sit and play a game more than a few hours before that. After some sleep, I went back at it.
I highly recommend this game, it is like no other. The atmosphere is unbelievable, so is the fact that the bodies and the items - as well as the ones in the stashes - all remain as you travel from one end of the map to the other!
Sure there are things I would have done differently, but that's always the case, and yes it has some glitches, but what game doesn't?
Stalker does what it does exceedingly well. Don't compare it to any other games because there are no others like it. It's in a league of its own, at least until Clear Sky comes out.
