While Red Steel is not the killer app that everyone was hoping for, it is still a great game to play and a great introduction and start to what FPS's could be like on the Wii. It's main problem is that its flaws are very noticeable, but if you're a gamer willing to forgive a few flaws, it will not make a difference! Everyone can complain about the graphics and how it looks like last gen or Gamecube style. However, as a true gamer, graphics should be the least on your list of priorities. The gameplay in this game is superb and it certainly makes up for the lack of good graphics.
In the end, Red Steel is a game you should certainly consider picking up. It is the best FPS on the Wii at this time, so if your an FPS fan with the cash, you should consider this game more then any other. Yes, the controls are off with its learning curve, but that doesn't mean that you won't enjoy yourself here!
I had a blast playing through this game and if you are a little hesitant, consider renting the game first. This game is especially good coupled with another game, such as Zelda and Rayman. Remember, do not let other people's judgement about this game hinder you from buying it. If you are still uneasy about this game, rent it first. Don't judge a book by it's cover. No matter how hesitant you are, just make sure to try it out, it could be a gem in your eyes! Most importantly, don't listen to the "official" reviews. Take it from fellow Wii fans, this game is worth a try for sure! Presentation This game is presented in a relatively good manner. I like the style of the game and I think lots of people are quite appealed at the first sight of it as well. 6.0 Graphics The graphics are not the best, but the criticism they get is a little off. People give it too little for what it's actually worth. The lighting effects are very appealing, and things look pretty 7.0 Sound The sound is overall decent. The voice acting is a little bland though. Sound effects are fine. I liked the music in some parts of the game. I wasn't too fond of some other parts. 8.0 Gameplay The game is a blast to go through, that is once you get used to the controls. The enemies are fun to fight, and a lot of the added game mechanics make for a fun game. This agme isn't repetitive at all 6.0 Lasting Appeal There is multilayer support, which is good if you have a lot of friends, but its really not anything special. Some great friends can make it fun for about 20 mins until it gets dull. 7.5 OVERALL
