Animal Crossing: Wild World Reader Review

I purchased this game after hearing good reports from varous owners of the GameCube version and from the EG review/ Player review. I can say that for me it does not live upto the hype surrounding it, I wanted to like it I really did but try as I might it just wasn't to be.

To begin with there really is no aim to the game and to me a game without an aim or just isn't fun, granted that some games with an aim aren't fun either but that is besides the point.

Ok so you can go fishing but what can you do with the fish after you have cought them, make something with them? keep them as pets?.....Nothing other than sell them to that thieving git Nook for a few quid, the same nook that you have to pay your morgage to. If i wanted to pay off a morgage I would go out and get one at least then I would have something to show for my hard days fishing, weeding etc but I don't.

An example of a day in the life of my charactor( Day day equating to less than an hour before the boredom sets in)

Get up go out side, shake a few trees pickup berry eat or sell berry, Shake another tree out falls a bowling alley, How it got in the tree in the first place is anyones guess, go back to house decide on a nice place to put the bowling alley. Now i have a bowling alley I now fancy a game of bowling but apart from a nice little sound effect not a great deal to do with the item. I apparently work for Nook now so lets see what fun he has for me. Nook wants me to plant some flowers outside, I can do that, go outside plant flowers, go back inside tell Nook that the job is done then here comes the most fun I had in the game go back outside rip up the flowers and sell them back to him, the perfect crime. Rinse and repeat with all the flowers in the area for quick morgage payments. I'm now bored of flower picking so I will go for a spot of fishing 20mins later with my fish I have the choice, do I want to display them for my to go and look at when I'm REALLY bored or do I want to sell them for some quick cash.....cash it is so off I wander back to see Nook to sell the fish I just cought.

At this point in the game I broke down it tears realising that I had just wasted £29 on a game that kept my attention for a little over an hour and left me even more bored than when I actually started playing.

To those of you that had the perseverance to see the game through and enjoyed it in the process I salute you. I for one found that the whole vitual life thing a lot of a let down. I'm off outside to weed some real flowers and talk to some real people
