EA unveils Celebrity Wii Sports effort
Celebrity Sports Showdown, sorry.
Electronic Arts has unveiled Celebrity Sports Showdown for Wii - part of the publisher's new EA Sports Freestyle brand.
Developed by EA Canada and due out this winter, Celeb SS (probably not the abbreviation they'll use) allows you to play as a mixture of celebrities and sports-people across a range of 12 activities that make use of the Wii and nunchuk's unique controls.
Confirmed slebs are Fergie, Avril Lavigne, LeAnn Rimes, Nelly Furtado and Keith Urban [surely these are "singers" - Ed].
Meanwhile, the world of sport is represented by Paul Pierce (basketball or something), Reggie Bush (American football, possibly), Suger Ray Leonard (punching), Kristi Yamaguchi (figure skating) and Mia Hamm (football!).
As for the games they play, there's Beach Volleyball, Inner-Tubing (Googling that probably isn't safe), Wild Water Canoeing, Hurdle Derby, Slalom Showdown, Cliff Hangers, Smash Badminton, Rapid Fire Archery, Joust Duel, Curling, Arena Dodgeball and Air Racers.

Riccitiello has some explaining to do.

The only thing worse than the concept for this game is the fact that it's going to sit near the top of the charts for the next three years.

I still think they should make a Wii Sports 2 with proper sports like Cricket or wall climbing or canoeing etc.

dagnabit, Nintendo are trying fresh and new ideas, half of which are heading towards not working (see wii music) and 3rd party developers are just coming up with this drivel...
The worring thing is, this will probabbly sell...
@Bengray, they've announced 3 wii sports 2 games so far and as everyone knows, that was the number they announced for the first one originally, hopefully we'll see one or two of those...

yeah cos the fact this game has just been announced renders the whole console and everything on it rubbish don't it?

It's that simple.

Talk about pidgeon-holing! "If they don't like sports, they must like music instead!"
I want to CONTROL Vic Reeves, Terry Wogan, Loraine Kelly, Anthony Worrell-Thompson, and Keith Harris and Orville!
