EA will be hosting an enormous public event inside the largest temporary structure ever erected in London's Trafalgar Square on 31st October and 1st November.
Dubbed Be the One, the event is being held as part of the London Games Festival. Any old person will be able to turn up and play forthcoming titles such as The Sims 3, Battleforge, Mirror's Edge and Rock Band 2.
EA's also using the venue for the Red Alert 3 launch premiere on Thursday 30th October. Gemma Atkinson's going to be there, we're told, along with other talent from the game.
That night will see a bunch of gamers in Trafalgar Square take on a bunch of gamers in the Red Square in Moscow as well - a bit like in The Cold War.
There will be plenty of other EA game-based competitions running throughout to get involved with, too.
Of course, you'll probably be exhausted from playing all of the unreleased blockbusters such as Resident Evil 5, Street Fighter IV, Left 4 Dead and Killzone 2 at the Eurogamer Expo a couple of days earlier, on 28th and 29th October. Not that we're suggesting our event will be better or anything. That would be wrong.

she's one of those celeb type birds that would be low down on my list compared to others, but should she turn round to me and say in that deep, nasally voice of hers "oooh, fook me up the bum!" I would immediately do precisely that

EA did a rock band promo thing in a club near me, i think that had somthing to do with this - there were a couple of demo pods set up, the idea being that they were supposed to be finding the best rock band players from around the country to take to trafalgar square. but it was about 12 on a saturday night, and everyone who had a go was shitfaced. needless to say it didn't quite go as well as planned. god knows how the rest of the country fared, i wouldn't be surprised if they abandoned the whole thing.
