EA has filed four new trademarks for four very old game titles from its intellectual property vaults: Populous, Theme Park, Road Rash and Wing Commander.

Tireless trademark digger superannuation made the spot, as usual.

It was only yesterday that we reported EA studio boss Harvey Elliot's enthusiasm for revisiting the Bullfrog classics Populous and Theme Park. EA bought the rights to them when it bought Peter Molyneux's Bullfrog in 1995.

The same goes for the much-loved space combat epic Wing Commander, created by Origin Systems back in 1990, a couple of years before EA bought the company.

Road Rash is all EA's own work, a combative motorcycle racing game that first appeared on the Mega Drive in 1991. A return for the series has been rumoured for some time.

It's all gone a bit early nineties round EA's house. We'll keep an eye out for further signs of resurrection.

AFAIK it's not EA property but I would love to see a re-release for handhelds of 90's game Mega Lo Mania. Maybe Codemasters can make it happen...

Would definately like to see a decent new Wind Commander game. There has not been a decent dogfighting space adventure game since Freespace. Wing Commander Prophesy was a great game which I'll have to get round to playing through again at somepoint.

Yeah Syndicate FFS - C'MON! It was a mainstay of mine when at school, that was freaking excellent. Remember the gauss gun? That thing was the sh*t!

FOR CHRIST'S SAKE EA I HAVE BEEN WAITING FR THEME HOSPITAL 2 SINCE I WAS ABOUT 5

I wouldn't mind a new Dungeon Keeper either. That DK3 trailer in the second one was evil!

I remember buying an Adlib (8bit?) sound card when the first WC came out and hooking it up to my stereo, that was pretty epic!

Why can't games be more like that today? (yeah I know... nostalgia)

TIE fighter rumours? What TIE fighter rumours? I need details now. That game was great. I'd prefer Freespace 3 or a new Starlancer but quite frankly anything which makes a force feedback side winder a viable purchase.

Edit: Do Sidewinder joysticks even exist anymore?

Well all very good IPs with alot potential, makes sense for them to use them to be honest. If they do wing commander they better have the dodgy FMV thourgh.

And yes dungeon keeper, is on top of bullfrog remakes
