EA commentless on Boom Blox 2 sighting News

EA has refused to comment on "rumour and speculation" that a sequel to brilliant Wii puzzle game Boom Blox is in the works.
That's according to US website Variety, which claims returning developer EA Los Angeles has already begun fleshing out the project.
There's no word on whether Boom Blox 2 will be a Wii-only game, nor whether Steven Spielberg will once again be involved.
The source of all this, interestingly, is a former employee of "Blueprint" - a supposedly top secret EA studio tasked with dreaming up new IP.
The developer has apparently been shut down, although no one will acknowledge the existence of "Blueprint" or issue an official announcement. Sounds like the X-Files.
Boom Blox was released on Wii back in May, and fell under Ellie's uncompromising eye for appraisal. But, much to our surprise, the game made such an impression that Ellie was soon championing its cause.

Simply brilliant game, but give me a sequel without the silly carnival-style shooting sections please. Rare though they were they were out of place amongst the puzzley awesomeness.
Also, let me build a multiplayer playlist like flatout ultimate carnage, but save it for quick recall. |

/teeters. /falls and asplodes. /10 points. @barchetta To be honest a lot of the game will be out of scope for a 5yr old. There are some pretty taxing puzzles in the bombs/chemical blox sections. |

Great game..shame about the art style (and awful cheap cut scenes).....if they want to sell more units they should slap their Harry Potter llicence on the sequel and give the impression you are controlling the blocks with a wand.
Shame the controls haven't been ripped off for other games...the aim and throw/pull mechanic could be used to great effect in multitude of genre's (shame the Star wars Wii games don't use it for force attacks etc). |

Is the original worth getting for Xmas party fun (age range 10 to 72)? I've already got M-Kart and SSBB lined up.

Yes, it is worth getting for groups of folk. Pretty much the only game my family will play is Wii Bowling, but they got fairly into the Jenga-style levels in the multiplayer mode. I managed to get Gold on the 4th July level last night as well, so it has the 'joy at achievement' factor :D |

That's like saying "i'm not prepared to spend over 20 quid for cod5 - as it's basically just a shooter isn't it?" (or insert any of the latest fps games in there) ... At least that's what my "common sense" is telling me.. In REALITY i havent bought it either as it's too pricey for a puzzler. (which is MAD when you think about it!) |
