E3: Crackdown 2 MP player counts
Competitive and co-op numbers.
We're still waiting for the away team to report back on this one, but in the meantime Xbox.com reveals that Crackdown 2's multiplayer options include competitive support for up to 16 players and co-op for up to four.
Although the trailer
shown during the Microsoft conference was a bit ambiguous (although very pretty), a subsequent press release claimed it would "take multiplayer gaming to unprecedented levels... providing you and your friends with the complete freedom to explore, destroy and play as you return to restore justice and peace to Pacific City".
That suggests structured multiplayer will be rather more of a big deal than before, although hopefully not to the exclusion of another single-player campaign. After all, we need to sort out that naughty Agency voiceover man.
Speaking of which, if you missed it at the weekend, do check out Digital Foundry's Crackdown tech retrospective, featuring some amazing time-lapse video from the first incarnation of Pacific City.
