E3: Assassin's Creed 2 gets release date

1486. No wait, that's when it's set.

Ubisoft has revealed the sequel to Assassin's Creed to will be out on 17th November.

It's set in 1486, according to a trailer which was played at Ubi's E3 press conference. It showed a group of men in masks going to a ball in Venice. One of them gets separated from his mates while dancing with a lady, and next thing you know he's keeling over with a very sore throat.

Altair replacement Ezio's to blame. A bit of kicking and stabbing ensues before Ezio is chased through the canals of Venice, ending up in St. Mark's Square. One of his pursuers appears unimpressed by the fact Ezio can produce a blade from his sleeve, but is less smug when he's shot by whatever's up the other one.

It all looked very impressive, with some amazingly fluid animations and brilliant lighting. Here's looking forward to our proper look at Assassin's Creed 2 later in the week.

See our previous story for current details on the game.

I'm with you DFawkes. I think we are one of the vocal minority that loved the first game. I'll be there in November.

I really enjoyed the first one - it might have been repetitive but I loved every second of it. I'll be there in November too

I'm sorry my fine fellow, please accept my humbelist apologies for any pericombobulations i may have caused. I am anaspeptic, even compunctuous, to point out that I was only enjoying the story of Assassin’s Creed, and really meant no disrespect. I hope you will accept this finest British ale as a peace offering?

i drive in to town to try and find a tramp by the name of zuluhero so i can knock him out i shout aloud ?zuluhero? repeatedly. A tramp replys ?hello" i look round and see a man selling big issues. I walk towards him and repeatedly punch him in the nose. i then throw him in my truck and take him back to my shack and chop of his limbs and feed them to my pigs. /i then carry on playin my banjo in peace.....?
