Dyack talks up Too Human News

Xbox 360 News by Tom Bramwell

27 April, 2007

Too Human developer Silicon Knights' outspoken director Denis Dyack has, well, spoken out about a number of things the team has in plan for its upcoming Xbox 360-exclusive.

Speaking on his blog, Dyack said that the full game will boast redone character models, improved animation blending and more polished animation in general, a solid 30fps frame-rate, a tweaked camera and 18 different weapon classes compared to the stuff seen in recent press demos.

What's more, having once complained bitterly about the negative response to the game's E3 2006 demo (well, more than once), Dyack is a lot chirpier in light of last week's reveals, claiming that "the feedback on the forums was great, but we want to hear more!

Comments on his blog are one option, but with the developer apparently watching us all closely, we expect if you chime in with thoughts below it will get back to them. So, sweethearts, what are you waiting for? Breakfast in bed?

For more Too Human, including our own thoughts on that infamous E3 demo, head over to the Too Human gamepage.

My three most wanted games for the year are MGS 4, GTA 4 and Too Human.

Denis, if you have to... then please delay the game until it's really ready. You know... some of us have been looking forward to this game, if i recall correctly for the PS1, since E3 1999. Don't let us down PLEASE cause then you'll let yourself down and the whole Silicon Knights and the whole of Canada.

No pressure though.

What a baby. Spits his dummy out when people say nasty things, and wets himself with joy when people are nice about his game.

Sort the faces out on the character models, eh? They look like shit.

A day at EG is like a day at the farm!

Anyway, I'd really really like to see another eternal darkness game...
Maybe porting it to the DS?...
Not really relevant to Too Human though...

"Dyack said that the full game will boast redone character models, improved animation blending and more polished animation in general"

Good, good. These were the main problems I had with the recent gameplay vids shown on various sites, the combat especially looked rather choppy and without fluidity.
The rest of what I've seen and read looks very promising indeed, but promise and delivery are two very different things, I'm just hoping the game can deliver on what my hopes and expectations are for the game (and indeed the trilogy).

Any clue what the projected release timeframe is? ...this year?

Actually the low amount of comments should act as a good indicator at the level of interest in this game. Frankly i think Denis and crew really messed up despite anything he'll tell you... such as "cold bucket of ice" stories. But the thing is... the fact that he took all bad press personally is a great indicator of the amount of passion he has for this project. I really hope he pulls it all together at the end. I expect nothing less then magic from this game but that's after considering how much time, money and dedication this project has been given.

Please Denis Dyack... justify your talk of stressing content. Please justify the ambitious approach to game design. Please justify the time and money spent. Please don't settle for just critical acclaim... and please go the extra mile...!
